You play D2 too much :)

Traps would be a great idea, but the balancing issues would kill us all... I've seen traps in TRPG before and there is allways a way to do stuff wit hthem that you arn't supposed to without rewriting a LOT of code.

Of course it also depents on the type of trap...

I was thinking of just using mines with a different model as traps, maybe with just a knockback effect.

Your code has to do with w40k... JI's code will match in no shape or form.

It would be pointless to let everyone use traps, because then a paladin would still be the best overall class. The whole point of making modifications to this mod would be to give people more of a reason to pick a certain class.. I just think it is plain out stupid because once you hit remort 20 (which doesn't take very long) You can do anything you want.

rogues are pretty useless already, with only backstab as their class skill, so mines would be a good addition to them. Plus, you have to hide before you backstab  Tongue

I really like the idea of using a solar flare spell.  Imagine, you are being pursued by someone who wants rank, so you #cast solarflare, which temporarily blinds those who are around you, allowing you to make some more evasive manuevers to escape.

I don't believe it is possible to make such a flash.. But it would be abused more than anything else..

Actually, I've seen it done before...

I'm no scripter myself, but you could just use the "blood" screen thing (Like when you get hit)... and if you were to cast solarflare, it would make the opacity of the "blood" screen 100%, on the caster in your LOS.

I don't think it'd be too complicated...

EDIT: Yes...there'd have to be some way of making it, so you can't go around doing this to people all the time... Especially if they're in different houses (non-targets wouldn't be an issue)

Well yeah, you can make a "blood" flash.. But the only point of it would be to get out of someone pking you..

I really don't see how it could't be abused..

Sure you can have restrictions like what? Someone in another house?

So you HAVE to be in a house to use this spell? So that means people not in houses can't use it to keep from getting killed?

That is why it is so hard to make modifications, because with some of the assholes that are around, balancing is the hardest part of the coding..

The last clear was 2,739 days ago as of March 28, 2012.  We're more or less eternal by this point.

Light from our sun has been to all three stars in the Centauri system since, passed Barnard's star years ago, and will be visiting Wolf 359 this July (2012).
