I know most of you just play winamp in the background (hell, even I do that), but i'd still like to entertain the possibilty of having new (and better) music for the zones, mostly just to compliment all of the other changes going around. I've picked out a few samples that *might* work well with the game. Most are no more than 1 minute long, so feel free to listen and see what you think:

City 1 - Maybe for Ktown?
City 2 - Another for Ktown?
City 3 - I'm thinking Ethren or Jaten for this one
City 4 - This seems like a nice "Entry sequence." Only about 10 seconds long
    City 5 - Definately Ethren

Unknown 1 - More upbeat, yet mysterious
Unknown 2 - Sounds bleak and dismal...raining on a sad day sort of thing[/list]

Are these not copyrighted?  It's hard to include material if it has been.

Hmm thats a tough one to answer. At the time I got these, they were released freely on the Internet. Not sure where it stands now, though.

Yeah, convert songs you like to lower quality WAV files matching the same format as the one you are wanting to replace.  Update the repeat length in the .mis file and remember to keep it short.  Long ones do not like to work.

I've been able to successfully replace songs (Replaced Uber music with MegaDeath :D ) but how do you change the repeat length in the mis files? In fact, how can you even edit the mis files in the first place?

The .mis file is plain text.  Open it up in wordpad.

I notice on the City2 I can hear spell explosions in the background :P

I also notice it on City3.

I could try and compose a piece myself.  I was messing around with Finale to make music I could play on my Bass, and it also has a feature to save the music as a .midi.  I could convert it to a .wav.

I knew that.  I also just needed to pass some time and forgot to look at how old this one was before posting.

I was just saying that I could hear spell explosions in the backgrounds of them.
