How many of you have read any of the Dark Tower books by Stephen King?

I just finished Number 2. (out of 7)
A good read!
If you dont have time to read like me, get the books on tape.  I spend 3 hours a day commuting to work so I might as well read/listen to somthing better that the crappy new KIRO710 pumps out eh?

I've never listened to a book on tape... I don't know if I could.

Anyways, I've read alot of his books. If you want the full effect of the Dark Tower series, you should read.. Salem's Lot, The Stand, and Hearts in Atlantis, maybe even IT. They're all connected. Oh and the Talisman too.

Great series.

Hearts in Atlantis is part of a series?  If that is the case, then DAMNIT!  Tell me what the rest are, I just figured it was a strange story which started and ended rather abruptly.

But yes, very good read.  The Green Mile is another good book, great movie for that matter, it doesn't need special effects to work in place of story *cough*Matrix two and three*cough*

No, it's not part of an actual series, but the Dark Tower is King's... LOTR if you will. He tried to mix as many of his older books into his favorite piece of work, which makes it cool. Anyways, in book 6 or 7 you find out what happends after Hearts in Atlantis.

Theres a few other stories that connect to the Dark Tower... The Mist, which is by far his best short story. The Eyes of the Dragon.. I can't remember them all.

So the Dark Tower is a way to tie all the storylines together?  What a strange and novel idea, could you find me a list or some site listing/explaining it in more detail?[/quote]

I will try and find you a link.
By the way, it is also linked to 'The Stand'.  Ref: Wizard and Glass 1/3 into the book.  He makes reference to "The walking man"
:)
