I really really like the xbox live headset, and I wish I could use it as a mic for my computer, since its more comfortable and stylish than the one I use right now, plus the sound quality is great.  Unfortunately, the plug for it is really short, and I dont know what would be required to plug it into a computer.  Uhh, anybody know if there is a solution?

Try to find a USB extension cable.

If it has the USB plug, it will work, regardless.  And especially since it is -labeled- as Microsoft, I'm sure they would have XP drivers.  I've got a USB headset by Labtec, and I'm betting it could work on a PS2/XBOX, but I like it right where it is, on my computer, not some crappy console.

(Yes, on their site it only shows 3Mbps, but it is actually 6Mbps, I would know :)).

The jack is not in USB form.  It is like what you would find on a normal mic or speaker, but shorter and skinnier, so it doesnt fit in a pc   :?

You mean the plug size is smaller than the standard 3.5 mm jack?

If so, then it must look like a headset jack, in that case, go to radio shack and ask for an adapter.

Or, does it look like the jack on the TI calculators?

Well, you see, the xbox live headset has the mic and the earphone all built into one cable.  It does look like a standard mic jack, but smaller.  Maybe I'll give radioshack a call... Oops, i mean RADIOSHAQ lol... Shaqcessories...  lol...

I have this feeling I already know what it looks like though.  It looks like a standard 3.5mm cord, but is smaller.  Yes, I've seen those.  You put those in cell phones, cordless phones, etc.

Hmm, yeah, thats probably what Im looking for, Ill see if that will plug into my neighbors cell phone, then check for an adaptor.
