Title: HACK MY Work!!

I need a way to install tribes at work, but i cant install because i dont have network priveledges.  If anyone knows how i could bypass it, let me know.

can you upload it to yourself thought an FTP? What about putting the whole tribes folder onto a cd, and coping it though DOS.

The easiest way to get around it is to bypass explorer all together (because that is most likely where the processes that block network privs are running).

Go to start menu, and then to run, and then type in "command" and hit enter.

With that window open, press ctrl+alt+delete and endtask "Explorer.exe" or it might not have the .exe

From there, you can do whatever you want with that dos window you have open--don't get fired though O_O

Now i cant ping any servers....i wonder why that is
also, every time i click on "Options", Tribes shuts down.  It kinda blinks like there is a video card problem, then boom . . . desktop.

Did you do a clean install of tribes or did you just copy your tribes folder to it?  If you copied your tribes folder, you need to go into console.cs (I think thats what it is) in your main tribes folder, and scroll to the bottom of the file, and change your video setting from "OpenGL" or "Glide" to "Software".  Since it's a computer at work, I doubt it has a graphics card or the latest OpenGL software.

As for the not being able to ping servers, the only way you can get around that is to figure out how to open the required ports on the network at your work.  I seriously don't think you should do that, though, because it could bring harm to your network.  Insta-fired o_o

You will just have to write down the IP of the server you want to connect to, or if you plan on hosting a server from there, you will have to tell other people the IP for them to be able to connect.  I wouldn't suggest hosting a server from work, either o_o

I have been there, done that.

1.  IP Traffic traceable.
2.  Hosting bring unwanted attention because of net traffic.  Hosting takes a sh*tload of bandwidth + PortOpen();
3.  Joing has less "Inbound" traffic and there for looks more like you are "Browsing".  Mostly just sending Location points, direction pointers, ect.

Open up Microsoft Word. Go to tools, customize, and select the web option. It opens up a bar atop your word sheet. Type in c:\ and press enter. You are on the c drive. I am sure you can figure out whatever it is you want to do after that.

Oh no! The jig is up at my job (I think)  I tried to play tribes today and the program won't open.  I wonder how they are making the program not open....sabotage of some sort I bet.  Either that or tribes has gone crazy.  I tried re-install, but that didn't fix it either....maybe they are blocking exe's somehow...but if that were true then hm.exe wouldn't work (which it does).  Any ideas anyone?

When I used to play shifter, I was one of the best Defense guys out there.  The Shock ff trick you see on  Broadside Defense in the top of the base was created by me.  I have about 20 ways to get through it also.  All my free time was spent studying and deploying tactics for defense.  If you ever need a base defended on any mod, lemme know....I'll study the mod for a week or 2 and  construct an unbeatable defense plan.

This Post is for Corona/Taurik.  Can you write a script that will basically copy everything that the chat hud says in game and broadcast it on a instant message type screen on the internet?

Purpose:  I cant startup Tribes from work anymore, but I would like to know what is going on sometimes in there.  I thought maybe you could figure something out.  You basically did it before (just oposite) with that Tokath function that would read web pages.

Maybe you could start a log file of the chat hud, then export that to a web page.  As far as I know, there are no limits to webpages, so the conversation could go on forever.  Maybe you could come up with some way to identify what time something was said so that it's not just a bunch of mumbo jumbo with no timecoding.

It's possible. But for TOTAL COVERAGE, you need a computer completely set aside for that task, it can't do anything else...

Let me know if you have one ready and I'll give you the scripts. I know you do... I'm hella poor, and even I had an old K6-2 lying around to log stuff. =p

Installing it is going to be extremely complicated, so I'll just guide you through it on MSN or ICQ or whatever, when it's ready.

The concept behind it is: your Tribes is set to automatically run at windows startup, and connect to PCRPG, then monitor messages... and if the server goes down or you lag out or whatever, a program kicks in and restarts the computer (at which time tribes loads again and re-connects to PCRPG)

It sounds like a stupid way to do things, but I could leave tokath running unattended for days this way, and it would always be on the server.

there's two ways you could do it

1. install a webserver on the computer itself (ie Apache, or IIS *shudder*) so that you could access the chat log directly (stable, but not very secure)

2. have a program send the messages to a website (less stable, and more work for me, but nobody will upload goat-porn to your Inetpub folder using hax)
