As I've been working on a map for Middle-Earth RPG, I've been filtering through files. I've gotten frustrated about how few dis files there are! I mean, there's malarkeyloads of houses, but we could use some new dungeons, and some new towers. It's so dull using the same thing over and over and over and over...
I know it's been mentioned before, but I strongly believe a new update would be great. When was the last RPG update? 2000? All we need is some new dis files. I've been trying to make some...have, but the whole ZED thing with exporting to a .div file isn't working.
Who's with me? Or against me? Please back it up if you're against the idea.

umm sure why not ill learn and help
ill get busy on that as soon as i figure out this weapon thing

Great! That's what we want to hear!

.div? I don't remember that as part of the process...though it has been awhile.
What kind of weapon trouble FrieD?
(And I don't care what you update, I'll play when I feel like it, but I doubt I'll download anything to do it.)

If we could muster up a new dis pack, I'd put it on the download page, stick it in my version of the TRPG 5.005 DL (we have a lot of downloaders of that file), and apply Deus's item system.
-
Yeah, and while you're at it, you could throw in the spells and skill system I made based on ff3 a while back.
It isn't worth working on anymore.. Maybe with T:V.. But not with this.
-
So.. uh, when is the patch coming out?
-
You're right, but this sort of thing would require little effort.
-
Yes, it would take no effort at all, except for making the dis files. And it would be greatly appreciated.
-
I made a few dis files... but I didn't light them in ZED, as I never foudn out if that was nescessary... :-p
I have to dig them up from the refuse pile though, and I am not sure where o my other drive that is! doh!
*edit*
.div? I don't remember that as part of the process...though it has been a while
.div is what ZED calls the dis files before yoou volume them up and put them into the folder with the rest of the dis files. I think .dis is what world craft calls them either before or after it converts them for tribes use... but I forget... it has been long for me as well!

Ok...this idea and thread is officially dead.
-
Blah, and I thought this was going somewhere...
This idea dawned on me today: how about borrow the dis files from RedMoonRPG? That is, if the creator of RM didn't mind. RM has a lot more dis files, and it would stop the problem of RM being client-side, yet it would take the uniqueness from Red Moon. Just a thought.

Not gonna happen..
Chee is gone.
-
Chee wasn't the only creator though. He was just 1 of the main 2.
-
So then do we need permission? I mean, it's not copyrighted....or is it?
-
Have ye no honor?
-
Sierra On-Line, Inc. owns the copyright to Tribes.
I (Deus_ex_Machina), Chee2, and any associates claim the copyright
to this Modification (the "mod"), and any derivative works of this mod.
If you steal it and claim it as yours, I'll kick your ass.
By using this mod you must agree with the end user license agreement ("EULA.txt")
.....
-
Permission from who? For what?
-
Chee made most of the models..
And if I know Deus like I think I do, he isn't going to give stuff like that up for something that will most likely be useless.

Yea, but is that a real copyright? Of course, as soon as he put it down on pen and paper (or in this case, a computer) it's copyrighted to him. And I do have honor, I wouldn't ruthlessly steal something. But it's just that the models in Red Moon are friggin awesome, as well as everything else in it.
Oh and about Chee...How could you invest so much time into such an awesome thing, then leave? I guess it kinda goes with that quote, one man's trash is another man's gold.
-
well thats to god damn bad dude, if you rip off that mod, you have no damn honor.
Deus only stopped after Chee left, but yes, Chee did put a lot of work into it...
and no Nitel, you have no honor, suggesting something like that proves it.

When you grow up, you will realize just how much more important an outside life can be.
-
Nevermind, I'll shut my face before you all hate me more, next time I'll keep my thoughts to myself. The End.

Way to bring up a dead topic.
