Your 1st Tribes Memory
« on: May 11, 2004 12:06 pm CDT »
What was the 1st memory you remember about your 1st tribes experience. Some of you have recent memories as being your 1st, and some perhaps can't even remember yours because it was so long ago,

Mine was walking thought the mines, my friend Tiocfaidh Ar La told me about this cool RPG game (yes you can blame him for me being here)  he was shielding me and giving me these potions that made my health go all the way up, I remember he was about RL 3 or so, I was talking to him on MSN voice thingy, Then Samy3 Came in and he introduced us.  She was helpful but mostly wanted to Level up.  Someone had made a coliseum and after a few weeks i lvl'ed up to lvl 97 and i was a fighter, i was feeling strong :), I was soo happy, from then on i was hooked!

Jim Error was an idiot, I looked up to the origional but when he gave it away the server got bad. I remember people used to dupe items, i even remember the time it changed for me, 1:31 PM everyday LOL.

One of the best RPG servers ever, Probally as important as Particles.

My first tribesrpg experience was joining the server and something was happening somewhere (i didn't know what).  Well, it was some nameless admin having a quest somewhere that I couldn't get to.  Eventually I was transported to the place and lo and behold, there was everybody.  It was a fighting ring and gobby's kept spawning.  Players took turns beating the s%$# out of them.  Finally it was my turn.  I entered the ring, rusty knife in hand, and started slashing at the insane creature that stood before me.  Miss, Miss, Miss, Miss, Miss.  He didn't seem to miss much.  His blade found its home on almost every stroke.  Finally, I conquered the monster (after a very long time).  I was awarded 25,000 exp.  I was hooked from that moment.  I've returned to Shifter, but only when there is no Rpg server to play on.  I love this Mod ! ! !

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

Bought tribes the week it came out.  Hopped onto my friend's computer because I didnt have an internet connection, and played on a packed DM server.  Scored the highest using the grenade launcher.

Yeah.. TRPG has been around since ~99.

What really made this game popular though was the freedom of movement.
