I seriously doubt that Netgear would store the password on your computer in plaintext, and if you are using the builtin Windows WiFi functionality, I know it doesn't for sure.  You're SOL.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

You could try and crack your WEP password using airsnort.  But theres a catch.  There needs to be a machine that is sending and recieving wireless packets to and from the router.

So long as there is a machine in your area that regularly sends packets to the router, you can get the WEP code with time.  The more packets/data sent, the faster you can snatch the WEP code.

*edit*
Is the WEP code shown in your netgear software using ******'s?  If so, you could use a windows debugger to nab that password.  If I could remember the name of the debugger I used to use, I'd let you know.

Smart developers don't actually put the password into a masked text box.  They just fill it with some *'s.

Unlike how AIM does it.  I have a feeling netgear also only masks the text with ****.

I'm sure you can just go to http://192.168.1.1 or whatever your starting IP address is on your network and access the control panel for your router.  That's where you set up your WEP, and i'm sure you could change it or find out what it is.  You'll need the login and password to get in, though.

From a netgear site:

Forgotten or Lost Router Password?

    * The router username is always admin
    * The default password is password or (for older routers) 1234
