Title: DooM 3

OH MY GOD!  DooM3 has the most amazing graphics iv'e ever seen in a game.  Even the damn GUI menus and stuff are AWESOME!  The ID intro screen is more pleasing to watch than playing tribes itself.

I'm not sure on the gameplay, but i'm about to find that out..  it looks promising so far!  I'll let ya know

P4 3ghz w/ HT
Radeon 9800XT 256
1gig RAM
Surround Sound Speakers!

I would think that another 256 megs would do, I hope so because i gave my friend one of my 256 megs cause he was stuck :S

I've got it pre-ordered from overstock.  It'll ship out to me on the 3rd or so, where my shiney new Radeon 9700 All-In-Wonder is waiting for it.

From the videos I've seen, it looks freaking slick.

Haha!  It really is great..  the story-line has a more futuristic them, but it still goes back to the good ol' evil satan deal.  The graphics are amazing, and the gameplay is awesome.  Easy mode is LOADED with tons of med kits and ammo and armor, so I moved on before beating that mode..  it makes it a little too easy.

Other than that, this is definately an awesome game..  it's more than I expected!

Seriously though, a large percentage of all net traffic at the moment is the illegal downloading of doom 3.  I'd just like to make sure everybody here is doing their part to actually support iD so they make more games in the future.  Those of you planning to play Doom 3 are either playing it at a friend's house or buying it, yes?

I'm going to test the game ("at my friends house") and if i like it...i REALLY will buy it. I loved Half-life 1 so much I bought it 3 times Honestly...

I don't want to buy the game before i test it on my computer, because software is a pain in the ass to return!

*back to topic* I got Doom3, It is OK, but I think it would be more scary if i could actually SEE what was in front of me..:S

Anyway I download a "ducttape mod" so i can attach my flashlight to my gun.. Havn't tryed it yet.

The game gets 7/10

I despise all the pirating of Doom 3.  The people with no intention of ever buying it.  The people who will inevitably complain about their illegal Doom.  And people who will return the game because they don't like it--not because it was broken.  I dunno, it gets me like people who buy a video card and return it because it wouldn't overclock enough or people who destroy a CPU overclocking it and want to return that for a free replacement.  It irks me.

I already had it pre-ordered, but i'm impatient so I had to get it as soon as possible  The flashlight is a very important tool, although it is annoying to have to switch between it and your weapons constantly..  also, the rate of fire seems a little slow for the pistol, but I guess in real life it would be like that.  Still rates as the best single player FPS iv'e ever played, though.

Doesn't come close to the 1st half life, OMG I just can't wait for the new half life. I WILL Buy an origional copy, AND probally a new super computer to play it on

Man the hours of fun that i got out of the origional half life was amazing!!

Yeah, me too..  the first half life was a great game.  Definately a milestone standard for all future FPS games!

Right now I've been playing The Specialists mod for Half-Life. It's really good, it's based off of movies like Face/Off (Great movie, I strongly recoomend) and The Matrix. You can do flips, rolls, kung fu, basically anything. The guns are pretty realistic with the recoil and everything. Also, you can slow down time and dodge bullets etc. etc.

Well well,

I can say hands-down this timely classic has been revitalized with new life. DooM lives on!

Respectfully, DooM III is a great game; I just wish it came with a free new rig when you picked it up. No serious complaints though. iD hit this one nail on the mark. Its more than just a graphical test drive, its DooM - are you ready?

I'll look into pictures to share and put up, ones that don't give much away in the spoilers department.

They were saying that DooM III's "Ultra GFX setting" can't even be utilized and appreciated by any of the next-generation technology from ATI or nVidia (yet). That's quite the accomplishment this time around. It will be nice to take this for another run with the new set-ups down the road.

A cheer to iD.
I second Particle's adamancy against pirating.
