Doesn't really matter, FireFox has more than 10 TB to all the servers to his name (I don't remember the exact number, but it's larger - probably a lot more actually)...  Particle would crap himself.

That is just this machine.  And it's just my personal computer, not a server.  I'd have more but I'm having a hard time powering them all off of a single supply...and splitting the load between two non-server supplies is dangerous.  I need to get around to upgrading those 5 120's with 250's.  That'd put me at 2.1TB if I replaced them or 2.7TB if I kept them in and just added the 250's.  Either way it'd be full by this time next year.

Has anyone noticed that Particle has all this high tech stuff? Huge hard drives and all the newest gadgets like his handhelds, etc. It makes me wonder, "What kind of a career does he have to afford this sort of stuff?" I've always been struck with the impression that he's a busy man....Does anyone know for sure at all?

There's at least one person. Maybe you should ask that one person.

SHeeeit. If I may ask, Particle, do you have any future plans/interests in getting married? Raise a family? etc?
Title:
Post by: Particle on February 3, 2006 03:24 pm CST
Nah.  I can't even afford decent amount of technology--how on earth could I support a family?  You have to have priorities in life, and mine just happens to be computers.

However, I'm working on a new project that might raise some more cash.

I don't think you guys understand.  Bipennis is just an old word you don't hear anymore.  All it means is a double-sided axe.  And I enjoy bladed weapons as much as I think most people do.  I used it because it's a funny word with a simple definition.  That's all.

I'm not looking for a relationship at the moment.  I've got other things on my mind...like video cards, shaping up my aim at target shooting, and dual core processors. :)

People ask me why I need 50+ TB of space.

Where else would I put the games, mp3s, movies, and other junk I download?

P.S. My wang takes up all but 1 TB of space. You lose Aphex.
