Here's mine nothing much though, sorry if it's big I couldn't shrink it.

Also sorry the graphics aren't better. Is there anyone willing to sell me a PCI graphics card cheap, 16MB would, merely for tribes.

Man, I feel sorry for you.  Your running on an 8 mb card?

Here is a page with a bunch of PCI cards on the cheap.  Dont expect anything wonderful, but I'd go for the GeForce4 MX440 or the ATI RADEON 7500.  I have a mobile 7500, and it runs games like Tribes and CS nicely, though lacking.

Don't get an mx. They are nasty. IF you need to step down and get a gf3 ti 500, do that. But don't get an mx unless your budget requires it.

Radeon's are nice, when they aren't in laptops. I think laptops are the computer of the devil. Desktop > yu0

Budget, Radeon 9000 of course.
I got it for my dad because he plays RTCW a lot because he's a diehard Wolf3d fan who didn't want to move on to true 3d and mouse.  Well he finally did and he loves the game.  The 9000 performs very well.  I also installed NFS Hot Pursuit 2 on it and that game runs ok as well.  It was only about 80$ when we got it, worth all that too.

I say 9500 non-pro for you, about 120$.  If you want the links just tell me, I don't feel like getting a link if you don't want it.

Gotta love SBC with their 6Mbps tier for 45$
(Yes, on their site it only shows 3Mbps, but it is actually 6Mbps, I would know :)).

Actually the Radeon 9000 non-pro is also PCI
http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/radeon9000pci.html

There may even be a Radeon 9000 Pro PCI out there, depending on the manufacturer.

Ahh, I stand corrected, but I wouldnt trust that card with my life.  The last ATI card I installed that didnt have a fan burned itself within minutes after installation.  Bah, it was probably because of the crappy drivers ATI used to provide though.

I wouldn't run any new video card without having some sort of fan on it. I used a ATI Rage Fury MAXX for almost 2 years, and had no problems with it.

It was pretty much broken after it melted.  Besides, I wasnt as "computer literate" when I installed the card as I am now.  I dont think many people considered putting fans on 3D cards at the time.

Even by opening the side of your case you can drastically reduce the temperature inside if you have minimal or no airflow.  That was why you burned your card, and you probably also had a bunch of other cards stacked right under it.  Bad bad.

Errrp, not really.  When I turned the computer on, and waited 30 seconds for windows to boot, i noticed that something was terribly wrong when windows came up.  All those stupid lines were everywhere.

No, there are no other cards installed on that comp besides a modem.

I disabled hardware acceleration in windows, and it made the lines dissapear.

Amazing.  I have had my case open for about 3-4 hours now, and I just checked on my geforce3's temp by touching the card, and I swear the card is twice as cool.  I think I desparately need some fans.

*edit*
The area behind the GPU is pretty hot though.  I cant hold my finger to the spot for more than 10 seconds.
