Screwed Map

Well, I'm pretty sure my rpgmap1 has turned gay on me.

When I load it up to host, it gets to the Rock n' Roll part, then just exits. So, I logged me console, and there's a few things going on. For one, it says there's an error in line 4038. Line 4038 is just the team score limit. And also, in console, it says that it can't find rpgmap1_worldsave_.cs.

If anyone thinks they can help, say so, and I'll mail you the map and my consolelog.log. ANY help appreciated!

Let me guess: you booted up Tribes normally. In order to host an undedicated TribesRPG server, you must load Tribes with the '-mod rpg' extension.

I am not a newbie. Of course I used the -mod rpg extension. C'mon...I need someone to help! Not question my level of understanding.

If by quit you mean crashes, then reinstall it, somethings wrong with your tribes.
If it goes back to the Server menu, then see if someone has a copy of that script to stop the commander's map from loading.
And as far as I know rpgmap1_worldsave_.cs doesn't exist.

OK, sorry for being so harsh. It's just that I put a lot of time into this map, and it would suck to have to redo it...

And rpgmap1_worldsave_.cs has to exist, since it refers to it in my console log. I asked someone, and they said it's in your temp folder. And when running regular rpgmap1, my console logs that  something saves to that file. I really don't understand what's happening, and nobody else seems to, so I may as well forget it. Bleah, I've been working on it for at least a week now, at least an hour a day. Foo-ey.

what scripts are you running?.... oh and by the way if you are able to get it open just by opening tribes you are lucky and i mean with -mod rpg on the end... it usually needs dedicated

You can't use the map editor on a dedicated server.

i could make "Hello Nitelthrome-X" and then "error: missing file hello.cs" and you would still believe that bullmalarkey?

just because your console log says the file is missing doesn't mean it HAS to exist, that file is bull anways, it doesn't do a damn thing that it was suppose to other than create lag, which it does well.

the main point is, the world save file doesn't have to exist, and usually doesn't on most short-time-period servers that don't have the edited SaveWorld function code.  Just because your console log file says something doesn't mean it has to be interpreted that way.

Well anyways, back to the crashing, when does it crash? On your other thread you were asking about map editing, could you have made a mistake there? What was the last thing you edited?

I think it was when I added a few new bots. Anyways, nobody needs to respond to this, I've given up on that map...heh, started over. But if anyone could answer my ncity/dcty question, that'd help me where I need it! Thanks,
