To do a T:V mod, it'd be best to wait for the UnrealScript, so you can make variants of the actor(analogious to objects) classes they give.

You have to realize though..

Tribes was based off of the Quake engine.. The code is a bit different between the two.

You'd have to look at the two engines scripting and look at the way they do things, and translate one to the other style.

Wasn't code in Tribes just plaintext executed via console(is this the same for server side scripts)? UnrealScript is actually a misleading name, as the language is actually compiled either by the editor or ucc(better for large projects).

Now if T:V was modified to do script execution in console(beyond a list of commands), that would be cool.

T:V excites me because I love the tribes series and the unreal engine, so I might be able to contribute to the mod community.

I know in the origional Unreal Engine, you could execute via console.

Never played 2k or 2k3 though.

QuakeII. Possibily one of MY favorite games I've ever played. This may seem strange to you people considering it's old and doesn't fit your likeings. But it's all around fun. I used to play LAN's with over 40 people on a server. It was great.    [Edit]

I know, but it isn't anywhere near the point tribes's console. You could execute text files with simple commands and that was all.
here's something I made a few months ago for a ut admin

admin set unreali.Cow Mass 999999999
admin set unreali.Cow MaxStepHeight 100
admin set unreali.Cow Health 2000
admin set unreali.Cow Aggressiveness 1
admin set unreali.Cow bIsWuss False
admin set unreali.Cow CombatStyle 1
admin set unreali.Cow JumpZ 250
admin set unreali.Cow GroundSpeed 500
admin set unreali.Cow SightRadius 2000
admin set unreali.Cow FovAngle 120
admin set unreali.Cow Intelligence BRAINS_MAMMAL

nothing in there or the console guides include anything that would constitute flow control and such, whereas in tribes clientside scripts far more functionality existed. This just means we have to settle with the fact functional clientside scripts are out of the picture until further notice.

You mean by the ability to change variables through the console and send actual data blocks through it.

This is true, but considering it IS a Tribes, I'm sure you will be able to.
