Yes, Bice<edit "Canada">, it does--you don't have to kiss my ass, but I do expect an acknowledgement when such a subject is being discussed.  Besides, this should have gone into a PM.  You’re really starting to rub me the wrong way.  You have that magic Celticish touch.

"Edit"

Seriously dude, wtf is your problem?  Every single action you take pisses me off.  Nobody's managed to do that before.

If I PM you with a threat to kick you off the forum, YES, you must reply or I'll take other measures to ensure you get the warning.  That other measure is messaging on the forum.  You in turn made another thread, when a PM actually WOULD suffice.

I've had enough.  If you piss me off again, you're banned.

<extra>
I don't answer support mail...and am in the process of getting others to do it so people don't have to wait.  If you don't like it, too bad.  I suck at support mail.

Idea:

Have the support mails be posted to the admin forum automatically... provided a police office forum is added, then all forum admins can check on them and fix troubles accordingly.

there is more to it than that. It would work for things such as password problems but not for restoring characters because we would need access to the FTP.  It is a good idea tho.  It would take care of pvp issues and things that need to be addressed, and you could post screenshots and such.  But that would also bring about more flames and arguments.

Why? Because it turned into a productive discussion instead of just random flaming, like you'd hoped?

?!

Well either you misread me or I wasn't clear... in either case here is what I meant:

The e-mail system publishes automatically to a private forum called "The Police Office" in which only admins/PKs can read the messages.  This way admins can get "fixit tickets" in there, possibly with links to .zip file mail attachments (if any are sent) on the mail server, solve the issue (or let other admins know they are working on it) and then post back "done" to let the other admins know the problem is solved.

This would follow the alleged FTP access Particle or LastWish allready mentioned Particle was working on.
;-)

No flames... unless you admin/pk people flame each other..?
Peace.

No I knew what you meant. I was tired when I wrote that so my idea didnt come out right. and I wasnt thinking right. Now that I look at it, it's a good idea. I just dont know if particle is willing to give us admins access ot his FTP. It is a big thing and in the wrong hands it could do a lot of damage. But it would also solve a lot of problems and leave him with more free time, so he wouldnt have to worry about fixing tons of problems..

 8)  my thoughts never come out right sorry.

 :-D

Well then... yes I agree that the FTP is still a risky business because of possible wrong hands.  Perhaps Particle could set up FTP access through a Virtual Private Network?  Not sure how to do it... but I heard it's possible... just put the Port of the FTP on VPN only access, and this way access would require the connecting computer to meet the specifications Particle sets up for the VPN connection... I think?

I don't remember how it works, but supposedly it's secure and all.
:-p

Ahh VPN's are teh Devil!.. I think theres parcticily no security .. so yeah It would have to be for people who are very trust worthy.

A hell of a lot more secure than any other form of open network data transmission.

VPN's are just about all the Air Force uses... they are a unsavory woman to manage though.
