Title: Should I Chance It?
Post by: Particle on September 14, 2004 06:43 pm CDT
I'm considering moving to a new web host.  They're offering 15x the space and 10x the monthly transfer for only 3.5x the price (still affordable).  If we had 200GB of monthly transfer, I'd never have to stop the TRPG download and could host more content.  Right now, we're straining my 20GB/mo with pcrpg.org and whenever uberclockers.com comes online, we may have some trouble.

Only thing is...I really like my current web host, but he just can't match the price.

if you can afford it an it's a better deal  then I would say go for it.  And if the company seems decent.

Other side of that coin...I could hand out free web hosting to you folks who want it.

I mean, after all we've done to you? Hell, if I were you, I would downgrade the website instead of upgrade it for us.

If it is a good deal, I would go for it. Just tell the other guys sorry but this guy has more to offer. If they were smart, they would try and match the deal to keep you.

I'm looking towards success with UberClockers.com, so I say go for the upgrade.

Hmm.

Know anyone who uses the other service personally?

Are they reliable?

Cross check these two things with 10 sources first.

Your current service seems unbeatble in everything but price (from what I have seen) so I would make sure the other service is at least equal in all other aspects.

Also, on the other side of the coin, you would need to heavily regulate such accounts you hand out to avoid some crazy ass illegal malarkey from happening.... I've seen it happen, so goodluck!
:-)

//I'd take a site, so long as none of the things I put on there become your property.
:-D

Go for it Part. I mean you can always go back if the service is crap. But you will never know unless you try them out! :)

I know I could use another domain for hosting scripts for admins or whatever I'm working on at the time.

I'm going to try them with the uberclockers.com domain.  We'll see how things work out.
