Ok everyone prob. know one of those names listed in the subject. And this "kid" is bugging the S*%T outta me and alots others he is mugging people, filling there inv. with a bunch of padded armors and stuff so they cant move, etc.
So if you asked me i think we should ban this little mother F*$KER from the server. >:(

Hmm, I was thinking that DoDoDo was Tasslehoff. Dont worry, next time I see him, he's dead. He mugs a member of my guild, his nuts will be found hanging in the elven trees.

Its another one of his new guys so no one knows it is him, he might have like 20 other but i havent seen them.

Word of really, really, REALLY good advice: Do not go AFK unless you are sure nobody can find/kill you.
#hide combines with a #meditate works really well.
If I see him, im going to set a tent on top of him and have some thorn torture fun.

Yes, be sure to find a safe place to go AFK. If you are and get mugged, you're fair game.

- Padded Armors = 3 coins; You can buy 100 at a time, he has 0 lck therefor he buys about 1000's Padded armors, gets a shove to newbies or when they run up on him he ctrl k's therefor droping his pack and making newbies carry all the padded armors, usually he does it when hes away from the merchant / banker if hes smart.. which 90% of the time he isn't..

Well now , it sucks, you shouldn't be able to get mugged in town.. Its wrong, How is it a protected town if you can get mugged... Espically for newbs who are slow and take awhile buying something and stuff..

Well then, here i am and its my turn to speak. According to server rules mugging/stealing/pick/pickpocket IS legal, Therefore; not deserving punishment of banning or even and punishing at all. BUT, what is illegal is being PK'd by high RL's in which you have done nothing to, (Draak-DD, lvl 600 RL100), being my RL is 0 and lvl 101. SO, if there are going to be people banned it should be the pkers. If mugging and stealing were "Illegal" and bannable why would EVERY class be able to use it in the first place? ???

Nobody said it was illegal, but it's not illegal to PK someone that is a mugger. Like I said on another post what comes around goes around.

I think that if they mug in town, they should be subject to a sort of player enduced punishment. Like, if they mug someone, they are able to be hurt in town.

I'm actually FOR the ability to be able to be mugged in towns. Now, what they COULD do for n00bs is make the buying and storage zones a #sleep zone that they do not get mugged.
And guys, dont mug the n00bs. I mean, cmon, you wouldnt want me sneaking up behind you and taking that fancy triplate, would you?

Mugging in town will remain legal for now. Towns are "protected" from all PK action.

Hmm.. If You steal in town it should make people be able to hit you and you not hurt them...
Please don't tell me you never heard of a thief stealing from a warrior and a warrior taking a crossbow to the thief's heart..

Ok, I won't then. I can make retaliation possible, but that could be abused. If you want to fight somebody in-town all you have to do it walk up to them and type #steal or #mug and viola you can fight. I don't think I'm going to.

No no no, only you can be hurt then. You can't attack them, only they can attack you. That way, if they want to fight back, they must leave town.

Not sure I like that idea. Then again, I guess it would be semi-balanced due to the "If you steal, you could potentially be attacked" reason.

It's people like DoDoDo who steal from you every chance they get and KillerSquirel who goes around PKing everyone lower than them that make it really difficult to WANT to come back and play on that server, because the second you see them on you either hide in town or drop. I just love that feeling of starting to get somewhere with my character only to have some putz come along and either kill me or steal all my hard earned equipment. I'm really started to like the MOD and such, and for the most part I like the server, but it's people like that who ruin the game for many.

i normally just choose a REAL n00b, one that really doesnt know how to play and hes lvl 1 and everything and give him 100k....last time i gave a semi-n00b person 100k they got it stolen...lol

Stealing. You are of course allowed to steal from players. After all, there is a skill and a class for it. When you decide to take stealing, mugging, pick pocketing, and other similar resulting skills too far, you start to ruin the game. You are allowed to take two items from another player within a period of 30 minutes. In taking these items, you are allowed to take any value of item granted it is not from an administrator. Peacekeepers are fair game, but they may have to take vengeance should you violate this guideline. Be aware that you are fair game to the people you steal from for either stealing it back or killing one time. After one kill, the PK guideline will take effect. The thief is not allowed a free vengeance kill due to the fact that they already did their crime by stealing.
Punishments for Thievery:
1st Offense: Warning will be issued and you may be required give the items back.
2nd Offense: Warning, up to a 20,000 gold fine, and items must be given back.
3rd Offense: Up to six minutes in jail and up to a 40,000 gold fine.
4th Offense: Kick or temp ban.
Stealing is not a major issue on the server or even within the TRPG community. However, abuse of this privilege (as any other) can ruin the game for others and within seconds, make them lose hours of mining or scavenging. See the “Repetition Policy for General Punishment” section listed after the general rule set.

This states that you can steal two items of ANY value within a period of one half hour, except for admins. I did this, stole two items from darwin, particle put me into jail for 200000 seconds (55 hours), well, this is violating the rules he instated himself. what i did was completely legal. So, what i want to knwo is why you/he did this. it was fair game, if you can cry for stuff and always egt ti froma dmins what will the server become? I'm just following the server rules. i want out of jail.

Well, I decided to be cheap because I no longer see n00bs mining anymore. In fact, i never see ANYBODY mining.
Everybody who has a few million gives 100-500k to anybody they see, and a huge part of the game is missed.
When I was a n00b (as the character Killur) I could say that I mined over 30 hours before I remorted. Then my character got hacked by a guy whos name looked sorta like this: [][][][][][][][][] ; except the boxes were closed. He changed my password.

I distincly remember a rule about acting like an ahole somewhere on one of the old forums (right by the one for talking a lot of crap) and told you as much DoDoDo. But you just pointedly ignored that and claimed that this was yet more unjust favortism. You slipped those blinders on quite nicely.
The only thing unjust is that you went around stealing the pick axes from people who just started on the server and had to beg for another weapon.
And moreover, as a former server operator I realize how much time and effort it takes to run a simple server side only mod. But when I think of the time and effort that Particle has put in to his RPG mod and server (along with the rest of those who work on it), I can't even begin to estimate how much work that would actually be. You abuse the fruits of their labors and get pissy like a princess without her pony when you are punished for violating the very purpose of having a public server in the first place.

Rofl dirk, stealing is there as an ability to all, maybe i stole from n00bs jes to lure the higher lvls whoc ant mind their own business, i took advantage of their cockyness and mugged their stuff. why would ic are for a paxe when i got someon's KLS? I'm just playing by the rules set down by our moderators, so stop crying and unsavory womaning to me about stealing, im not the one who makes it possible.

You need to make the higher-ups like you, you know, like everybody else here (except Shorty). If you are clearly causing a stirr, you'll be delt with. How about in the old times that this game mimics--if you're a notorious theif and the law knows how to catch you and deal punishment, they're going to do it.

From what I understand, Diot and Edom are siblings using the same computer... Edom is a far more intelligent individual than Diot (note: Diot's previous name was "stupid", so you can assume diot=idiot).
About stealing... how about town bots? just idle guards that attack any lured in monsters like an orc or a knight and when a action like steal or mug is commited in their LOS they'll attack the player. Towns have unmonitored areas where most crimes occur, you don't just go out into the center of town stealing everything you can where you can get caught.
Well, thats my 2 cents.

I like the idea of having bots that steal from idle people in town better. Now, I'd say they would need to be set to where they only target those with levels higher than, say, 30.
Also, how about travellers/theifs that spawn randomly in the mines. Like one can spawn at the super crystal, and after he is killed he can spawn at gnolls, or something, or something...
