Title: Pk
Post by: FireWire on October 19, 2002 03:30 pm CDT
Particle the fact that when pk comes out how many pks will there be, another thing is there should be some kind of limit to what actions cause for which fines like instead of giving someone a value fine. Fine them for like Spamming like #Fine FireWire Spam and it could take it I just think pk's could get a little carried away just like an admin could ya know just trying to nipp probs in the bud before they arise.

Well, I would if only everybody had the same amount of cash.  To some, a 50k fine is enormous.  To others, it's a drop in the ocean.  I will trust my pK's to make good calls.  If they don't, they get the boot.

Yeah I guess so, You cant limit any fine to a certain amount but im sure there is a way you could put limits up ya know i guess thats all im trying to say. Because I dont think anyone needs to fine for 1 mill if they do something that bad they either need #jail or #kick

I had a whole bunch of them lined up, but can't remember.  I'll have to setup a poll - be it legit or not.

THe only way to solve the #fine thing would be to fine a % of the players bank..

for instance

Code: [Select]
function fineplayer(%clientID)
{
 Ãƒâ€šÃ‚     //have to list what we are fining them for... it reflects the multiplyer
 Ãƒâ€šÃ‚     %finemult = $fine; //you would have to change comchat accordingly
 Ãƒâ€šÃ‚     %bnkchk = fetchData(%clientID, "Bank"); // it has been so long since I have looked at TRPG code, but you get the idea...
 Ãƒâ€šÃ‚     %newbalance = (%bnkchk * %finemult);
 Ãƒâ€šÃ‚     storeData(%clientID, "bank", ""); // once again my time away from TRPG code affects my judgement
 Ãƒâ€šÃ‚     centerprint(%clientID, "You have been charged with a fine for " @ $finename "", 10);
}

I decided not to use percentages for a couple reasons.

One, you could never completely rid somebody's bank account that way.

It doesn't really prevent anything, as they can just #fine again to get to where they want.

A fine database that used percentages based on the fine would be great if people were honest and never use a fake fine.

What it all boils down to is the trust--there'll have to be some when it comes to the coins.  There's no way around it which leaves flexibility for all situations.  Trust me.

Not if done correctly.. You are supposed to be able to trust your PKs in the first place.

You could easily enough limit on how someone is fined.

You could also record which Pks used what commadns and read them over..

There is plenty of ways, and yes you can directly take someone's entire account... You can also put them in the -.. I did it all the time with admin if they wanted ot buy soemthing and didn't have enough money.

The thing is that some people can make millions by the hour. You can also make it so a lien goes on their account.. where it takes so much when they deposit money.. I had this in m version of TRPG.. you had ot pay taxes on your money etc.

If we trust them, then why not just give them the ability to specify an amount in the first place like it's already setup?

How about after killing so many people on team citizen that the damage you do to someone on team citizen is inflicted on yourself... the more you try the higher the multiplier for the damage

Not really.. in all honesty.. people should be able to execute anyone they want as long as they arn't relation of the castle..

If you absolutly MUST do something like that, you would want to make it more RPGish like a mage casted a curse on you or something..
