You bought a game without even trying it first?
I've read almost every review I could find on it... but I wanted a real players opinion.
Anyways, I'm 4 hours into the game (Dark Cloud 2).. and I love it so far. The battling system is much like Zelda Ocranina of Time (Except with many improvements). The cell shaded graphics are AWESOME... These are the most fluid and colorful graphics I've seen for an RPG on Ps2.
Now with the items/weapons, almost everything in the game is customizeable..(You can even choose your characters clothes at the beginning) You can manually upgrade your weapons to your taste and needs. It has this system where you can invent certain items and useful gadgets in your adventure, but the process of making them causes you to really use your head.
The dungeon layout radomly generates, but it is still very intricate, and well made.. and the monsters and bosses (so far) are very original. The overall layout of this game makes it a very addicting and creative game.. I really recommend it to the avid RPGer.
