Title: Replacing Dis files [Help!]
Post by: Newbie on September 26, 2003 12:19 am CDT
Ok.. I need help with these two dis files that keep getting mixed up.

I wanted to import the older ethren dis (keep.dis from RPGmap1) to make a new zone with.  Once I import it, it replaces my old keep.dis (the RPGmap5 version). Now whenever I load my server.. Fort Ethren ends up looking like the keep.dis from RPGmap1. Anyone know how I can get  keep.dis from RPGmap5 back? I've looked all over my RPG folder, and my previous backup of RPGmap5.mis and I can't seem to find the keep.dis file anywhere..

Or do you maybe know what the name of the file is in the RPG folder?

ahh... well, I don't know what .vol it's in exactly so I can't tell you that, but, you won't find it in any .mis file.

Your best best is unvoling every single .vol that has buildings in it, each into their own folders, and then put them in one at a time to your rpg directory until you find it out.  This will work... but it's damn tedious...!

Once you figure it out, make a folder in the directory it's supposed to be in called keep_old and a folder called keep_new.  Put a copy of the old rpgmap 1 keep into the old dir and the 5.005 into the new.  That's just to prevent this fiasco from happening again... and to let you switch them if you feel like it ;-)

You can find out where the new ethren is in the registerobjects file in the mod.

Then just run winvol on the same vol file in the older trpg version.

malarkey, I found the real problem.

Whenever I imported the castle.vol into RPGmap5 from RPGmap1 it somehow brought along the old keep.vol from RPGmap1 with it. Anyone know how I can stop it from doing this?

Make a new vol under a different name.

Change the name of the files inside the vol.
