Descent 2 & 3 cinematics, tools
« on: June 25, 2006 06:37 am CDT »
I don't know if I mentioned my story before, but essentially i'm looking for a way to extract the ingame cinematics from Descent 2 and Descent 3. So far, the only lead i've come across is a program called MVEEXTRACT32. This program is very rare, but anyone might know where to get something, I think it'd be someone in here.

If anyone has any info on old Interplay movies and video archives, sharing would be a totally unsavory womanin' thing of you to do :D

Those games are absolutely ancient.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

I didn't really get into Descent 3.  I did love Descent and Descent 2 though.  Those were the DOS days for me though--around 95 I think.

Indeed... I remember writing a letter to Interplay to put descent 1/2 and level editors back in to the online store when they took them out... 3 days later, they were back... but three days later... I had spent my money on something else and found my descent II CD. :-)

Well now you can get them for free.  Released under GPL if I'm not mistaken.

I've tried burning the ISO's to cd and tried running it from there...i figured maybe the game only recognizes cd drives labeled D:\
Of course I don't know malarkey about that, and one way or another it didn't work. I am sooo out of options.
