Title: "What the fork were j00 thinkin?" - Ad Bug?
Post by: Particle on September 9, 2003 09:34 pm CDT
Has anybody else seen the "What the fork were j00 thinkin?" advertising bugs going around?  Is it just my machine (a virus maybe) or what?  Tonight, I saw a site with a banner ad that was a mini version of my website.  Things are getting wierd... maybe it's my rig.

Visit fileplanet and refresh a couple or so times.  See if any of the ads do.

The ad may have loaded your site into itself... I don't know why in the heck it would do that.. but it is possible... cgi can be used for that... and I think php... but being that I have never used either language I amonly going off of the crazy scipts I have seen. :-)

Oh, it was.  The thing was that I didn't catch it the first time, but it visited my local webserver first (it has a four second redirect to pcrpg.org).  It was as if the ad was setup to load http://visitor'sIP (http://visitor'sIP), showing anybody's webpage that happens to host one.
