Awhile back i was messin around with the map editor and i came up with a new town... its called Teon (didnt give that much thought)...  ne wayz  here r the quordinates and dis names....
                                      bigfort base -410 -236 -64.6
                                      barrack house1 -405 -245 66.6
                                      jhat house2 -405 -226 66.6
                                      jmerch house3 -436 -245 66.6

well ne wayz i just thought u could take a look at the place and see if ya like it, oh yeah i had some dropships hovering around it to make it look like and alien invation  :P

So you are saying different types of terrain in areas of the map?  

Hmm, we could have a desert zone where you fight -- HEY I JUST THOUGHT OF A NEW ENEMY! -- MUMMIES!
Yeah! You could make a pyrimid where several zombies spawn in different areas of a pyrimid labrynth.

Also, maybe a gloom and doom area, with ashland-type terrain (you could take the pallete from starcraft mebbe) where you fight strange winged demons from the 5th dimension!  

And maybe and underwater world similar to atlantis where you fight mermaids and mermen! and the almighty TRITON!

*the juices are really flowing now*

And maybe a snowy area atop a huge peak of a mountain where you can fight abomidable snowmen!

And a tower! a huge tower that contains black scary monsters with red glowing eyes and teeth glistening with blood!  As you wind your way up the tower, you encounter more powerful and horrifying enemies!

And a futuristic zone! where you face off against the blood eagle armed with blasters and spinfusors!


And a seafaring zone that is a sea full of horrific fish! Eeep! (I hate fish enemies in games, they scare me, and i actually run from them, even in serious sam).

Each zone could contain its own pallete terrain taken from various games like starcraft or serious sam or quake.

Also, a fully-opened hell zone, full of demons and pentagrams! and only those capable can enter (like in Diablo).

And a fully opened heaven zone, where you fight angels (i guess).



I actually heard that there was a heaven zone.  Is it true?

Well i brought up making a new map today in the RPG server. And they told me to come check out this thred. So im here. But i really would like a new RPG map, with some of those ideas listed above. I know i can model new buildings for the new map, and place them, but i would need someone to do terrain and coding, and possibly even skinning. As of now, i have nothing beter to do with my spare time and i am willing to spend some time making buildings and things. But problems i want to fix, include the huge amounts of GFX lag while playing.. that terrain kills me. And maybe even add in some quests with special rewards you cant get anywhere else. But if anyone is interested in helping, or maybe throwing down some ideas for me to work on, ill go ahead and start some new buildings. And since its Particles server, lets hear what he wants.

What do you want for terrain? I am ok at it, not the best, but i could give it a shot if you want. Large map? Terrain? Terrain style? hills? ect. Whats you need foo?

large hilly type of map, I could also use a mountain or two

take the large hills from TRPG as hills--mountains as steeper version that are 2x higher

yea, its possible inc, you just have to create new teams, give some new names and it would be done, just have to spawn the bots

that would make it harder inc, the map droppoints are team specific, so the beastman would spawn in the mines, it has to be a seperate team or else a lot of code is needed to make sure the beastman never spawns in the mine, so its just easier to make a new team with a few droppoints

i havnt added in all the texture but i was just seeing if the shape was ok. It has 3 floors, youll need WW to get form each one. Bottom floor will have the Aztec emperior *who will whoop up on some asses* middle floor will just have warriors and stuff. and top florr is just to get in.

How about another new mine.  A HUGE mine, such as moria mines from The Fellowship of the Ring.  In it, there are many crystals to each room, where the gems from each crystal vary.  Also, the shape of each crystal varies.  One neat part about this, the value of each chrystal changes after each server reset, so that people will not know which rock gives the most payout.

Make it far underground, with large pitfalls.  Noobies who fall from the steep ramps that lead down into the mines meet threir doom.

Also, theives can spawn near your location as you mine to give you more trouble (some ppl AFK mine).  These theives will theif up to 50k in items and money, then #hide.

Im sorry eViL if im doing the easy part and leaving these up to you, I need to learn how to use worldcraft...  Even the serious sam editor confuses me.

the zones wouldn't be hard to make, but stick with one time frame: past, present, or future.  Don't mix them.

Weeew! This map terrain is geting to be a pain in my arse. I sware.. I have worked on it for porbably a total of 5 hours, and i got the island and water way surrounding it done. and now im busy feathering the edges so they arnt all jaged, and i sware, every 20 edge i feather, tribes crashes.. grrr man.. grrr. But as for progress. If things keep going like they are, ill be done within a month.

hey coal, want a tip, use the old tribes map editor on the new tribes, lol, if u can follow that.  the old map editor has a few less features but doesn't crash all too often, really nice to work with.

you can make maps using worldcraft, but you really have to know what your doing to get the right conversion from worldcraft map format to something tribes reads correctly.

Make the castle at some random point on the map, high enough that it can't be seen from the highest mountain, and needs cbp's to get to it. Let us look for it.

And another thing, why don't you take the time to spell right? If all you do is type like malarkey and don't care, you end up talking like it, and writing formal documents like it too (past experience :o)

hawk37, I think that anyone would mistake you for being a foreigner. I mean look at the way you mix up wording and grammar, and even make simple spelling errors. You should look into Meavis Teaches Typing...

What you need to do Hawk37 is click on REFRESH ALL and it will refresh all the servers.  Then, find the other Particle's Custom RPG and join it.  One of the server choices works, the other doesnt.

well anyways... back on the subject and away from the immaturity...

Particle I made a map called "RPGMAP6" which was rpgmap1 and 5 combined together, and the zones worked too.

If you'd like, I can send it to you and show you how to load multiple terrains, however I warn, it greatly ups CPU usage. And is much more prone to random quits to desktop. Also it makes loading time quite a bit more, and being that RPG already takes forever to load, it wont make things prettier.

BTW, All maps loop in tribes, nothing you really can do about it. Also some maps after looping a few times no longer have clipping boundaries. I've found that with some of my valley maps (2 map terrains at sharp angles to make a V) that if I didnt do it just right, I found myself falling through the terrain.

Here is an idea for a NEW jail.  I got this idea from Morrowind.  Lets have a city, one that is similar to Vivic city.  And above it, there is a floating meteor (which is what you find above the vivic temple).  If you get sent to jail, you can either choose to stay there a certain amount of time in a cell, or you can work in the slave mines (the meteor) to pay for bail.  Inside the meteor, you only have a pickaxe that cannot be used to attack players, only to mine to pay for bail.  Admin can set the bail (say 1 million to 5 million) And the player must mine for long amounts of time, then go to a small shop that buys gems to sell them.  Once the player has mined enough to pay for bail (the shopkeeper keeps track of your bail money)  You are free to go.

Also, how about some serious punishment for repeat offenders.  If they do something seriously wrong and are sent to the cells, how bout making them prison unsavory womanes?  Spawn a big burly man behind the player, and the player gradually loses health.  The bot keeps yelling "Keep Still" like the travellers and elves.

hey...thats a great idea. But instead of a mine, it should be the mino lair, and make the mining crystal somewhere in the middle and in the shadows, so they can have a hard time finding it..

I knew it looked familar.  Maybe you can get some staind glass from that half-life mod: They Hunger, which can be found in the church on the first episode.  In fact, that whole mod has some pretty good textures.
