Post funny images, youtube links, videos, songs, etc here that you've found on the Internet.  If something is not safe for work, please say so.  A simple NSFW before a link will suffice.  Nothing that violates the TOS for pcrpg.org (http://http://forums.pcrpg.org/viewtopic.php?t=1330) is allowed, obviously.  I'd just like to reiterate that.

There's no specific topic or pattern to follow or anything like that.  As a community, we've proven time and time again that we're incapable of such things in the past.  So, this is totally free-form.

I'll explain it in ascending temporal order:
1)  In 1939 a grayscale movie was produced called "The Wizard of Oz".  It starred a fictional character named Dorothy, who lived in Kansas on a farm.  Long story short, she and her dog were wisked away to a strange but magical land by a tornado, she goes to see the "wonderful Wizard of Oz" along with people she meets along the way to see if he can send her home, defeats wicked witches, and wakes up in the end since it was a dream.  The movie has since become a classic, with various parts entering pop culture.  One of these is a quote about not being in Kansas anymore, which has been used in everything from casual conversation to the 1999 film "The Matrix".  Other elements include the dog named Toto, the witches, etc.

2)  Throughout all of my life at least, it has been a common occurance that any Kansan outside of the region surrounding Kansas has a good chance of having pop culture elements of "The Wizard of Oz" used as a joke including them.

3)  A spoof of the classic motivational posters was shown here, including an image of a strange, digital environment with the title "KANSAS" and the infamous quote below it.  This builds on "The Wizard of Oz" movie.

4)  I posted a few common things people say to Kansans when their place of origin is discovered.

5)  Celtic posted one of those, including myself in the joke.  I am from Kansas...hence the connection.

Does that make sense?

I just kind of got tired of playing.  Didn't feel like remorting anymore and didn't wanna mine.  I still log on occaisionally to mess with Icecube and Siayer...well, anyone, really.  I'm a troublemaker...y'know...like Woody Woodpecker. ha-h-h-haah-hah.  

I'm trying my best to refrain from bashing AFK miners, though.  The houses people bought are making it more difficult to mess with people, though I have killed some by standing outside their house and casting divinefury.  But that's a rare find.

These are interesting.

Most people got married in June, because they took their yearly bath in May and still smelled pretty good by June. However, they were starting to smell, so brides carried a bouquet of  flowers to hide the body odor. Hence the custom today of carrying a bouquet when getting married.

Baths consisted of a big tub filled with hot water. The man of the house had the privilege of the nice clean water, then all the other sons and men, then the women and finally the children! Last of all the babies. By then the water was so dirty you could actually lose someone in it. Hence the saying, "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water."

Houses had thatched roofs-thick straw-piled high, with no wood underneath. It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all the cats and other small animals (mice, bugs) lived in the roof. When it rained it became slippery and sometimes the animals would slip and  off the roof. Hence the saying "It's raining cats and dogs."

There was nothing to stop things from falling into the house. This posed a real problem in the bedroom where bugs and other droppings could mess up your nice clean bed. Hence, a bed with big posts and a sheet hung over the top afforded some protection. That's how canopy beds came into existence.

The floor was dirt. Only the wealthy had something other than dirt. Hence the saying "dirt poor." The wealthy had slate floors that would get slippery in the winter when wet, so they spread thresh (straw) on floor to help keep their footing. As the winter wore on, they added more thresh until
when you opened the door it would all start slipping outside. A piece of wood was placed in the entranceway.
Hence the saying a "thresh hold."

In those old days, they cooked in the kitchen with a big kettle that always hung over the fire. Every day they lit the fire and added things to the pot. They ate mostly vegetables and did not get much meat. They would eat the stew for dinner, leaving leftovers in the pot to get cold overnight and then start over the next day. Sometimes stew had food in it that had been there for quite a while. Hence the rhyme, "Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the pot nine days old."

Sometimes they could
obtain pork, which made them feel quite special. When visitors came over, they would hang up their bacon to show off. It was a sign of wealth that a man could "bring home the bacon." They would cut off a little to share with guests and would all sit around and "chew the fat."

Those with money had plates made of pewter. Food with high acid content caused some of the lead to leach onto the food, causing lead poisoning death. This happened most often with tomatoes, so for the next 400 years or so, tomatoes were considered poisonous.

Bread was divided according to status. Workers got the burnt bottom of the loaf, the family got the middle, and guests got the top, or "upper crust."

Lead cups were used to drink ale or whisky. The combination would sometimes knock the imbibers out for a couple of days. Someone walking along the road would take them for dead and prepare them for burial. They were laid out on the kitchen table for a couple of days and the family would gather around and eat and drink and wait and see if they would wake up. Hence the custom of holding a "wake."

England is old and small and the local folks started running out of places to bury people. So they would dig up coffins and would take the bones to a "bone-house" and reuse the grave. When reopening these coffins, 1 out of 25 coffins were found t have scratch marks on the inside and they realized they had been burying people alive. So they would tie a string on the wrist of the corpse, lead it through the coffin and up through the ground and tie it to a bell. Someone would have to sit out in the graveyard all night (the "graveyard shift") to listen for the bell; thus, someone could be "saved by the bell" or was considered a "dead ringer."

    Bullmalarkey might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there.
     
     
    Lesson Three:
    A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold, the bird
    froze and fell to the ground into a large field.  While he was lying
    there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him. As the frozen bird lay
    there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was. The
    dung was actually thawing him out. He laid there all warm and happy, and
    soon began to sing for joy.
     
    A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following
    the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow  
    dung, and promptly dug him out
    and ate him.
     
    Management Lesson:
    1) Not everyone who malarkeys on you is your enemy.
    2) Not everyone who gets you out of malarkey is your friend..
    3) And when you're in deep malarkey, it's best to keep your mouth  
    shut!

Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country. I prefer actual captions to these horrendous labels people keep putting directly over the content... some times the humor is lost when the original image is so defaced that it makes little sense... not that you'd do something so blatantly idiotic... lol... I just have been bothered by all the "FAIL" posted on everything lately.

It's like the "ebaumsworld" labeling disease is taking over everything everywhere... and that malarkey is worse than those stupid forking TV station logos taking up 1/12th of the screen... or 1/7th when they decide to have a banner with a dancing cartoon or something... (and I don't even watch tv!)

So I went camping up at Lake Tahoe last weekend. I spent part of a day at the beach with some friends and we tossed a frisbee around for a while. I dove to catch one and got a little scraped up on the dirt. Ended up with a nice vertical cut on my wrist. I'll get a picture of it when I get my webcam set up.
