Okay, I tried to install forking windows XP, and, I start the install, it reboots normally, goes into the XP boot up sequence and I get thise wierd blue screen. It said turn off bios shadowing in the bios, which I did, and I still get it, anyone know whats wrong?

Yes, it is called the WinXP virus.  It is the entire OS.

Actually, Windows tends to just die for no reason at times.  Just try reinstalling it after making sure nothing is overclocked and a good scandisk.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

I would restore the bios to its original factory settings, then try it.

wait a minute.... i have windows xp and i have problems with getting a flash bluescreen and then my comp autorestarts. is this what you are talking bout or something totally different?

After it formats and copies all those files, its supposed to restart and begin the XP installation, right?  Something has to be stopping it from restarting.

Next time, dont let it autorestart.  Just press enter as it counts down.  See if that works.

it doesnt have a countdown, it just auto does it after a quick flash. but when i go into the start menu and try to restart it or turn it off, it wont do it then.
it came with xp and worked early on just fine.

1.  Check the HCL.  (Hardware Compatibility List) so see if you computer is compatible.
2.  Disable all video and memory shadowing.
3.  use Fdisk /mbr
4.  Fdisk and delete partitions.
5.  Do NOT format drive.  Boot from CDRom, allow XP to partition and format for you.
6.  Install as required.
7.  Grab Snak and sit back.

Inc, what you should do is have it boot from the CD rom.  Dont just pop the CD in during a windows session and install it like that.  Not only does it add time to the install process, it didnt work for me at all.

Set in the bios for it to boot from the CD rom before it boots from HDD.  

When it boots from the CD, you will choose to install a fresh copy of it, and that you are going to format the drive.  Format the drive into either FAT or NFTS (mine is in NFTS format this time around) and just keep going with the process.  At the end of the format, it should say that it is going to restart, and does a countdown.

After it restarts, it will open up into a much prettier installation (complete with graphics) and basically you are set after punching in your serial no. and everything.

looks like it was as i feared. Im going to have to buy a restoration disc. (my comp didnt come with one. (thats what i get for buying used, even if it WAS from circuit city.)

I doubt you would need to go as far as get a restoration disk to install XP.  Is it not booting into the setup after you restart your computer?
