Server Changes
« on: November 24, 2003 08:01 pm CST »
Tonight was a pretty big night for PCRPG.  I coded in five commands for pK's and admins, as well as working on the Admin's Might spells (more specifically, the timer functions for the effects), and adjusting the line break code to include new exploits.

New commands:
#untent
#globalmute
#globalunmute
#extravision
#revertpk

#untent playername
Removes all tents of the specified player.

#globalmute playername
Globally mutes a player, giving them the same command line privilages as one in jail.

#globalunmute playername
Disables #globalmute on the given player.

#extravision playername
Similar to #eyes.

#revertpk
Equivelant of #revert, except accessable by a pK.

And... speaking of new commands for pKs... the new pKs have been chosen.  As nominated by Pecker (and many of you), here are the new pKs:
1) 7
2) GE
3) wise_one
4) jake_hell

They will be given a seven day trial period, at which point their permanent status shall be determined.  Let's hope this works out.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

Wait--revert a pK? I guess I'm thinking a PK is a player kill. WHat's the pK you're talknig about?

Admin Light, so to speak.

Xanth has been one for a long time.  They help to moderate the server, without having any commands that can spoil the character.  They are given commands like jail, mute, etc.

This post, by its very length, defends itself against the risk of being read.

Thanks Particle for the extra commands.  It will make it much harder for players to lie to us.
Note:  llllllll chars are a bit of a pain to identify so if you need help i have stupid code to get user ID and then use the functions of #uncamp, ect on user ID's.  Hard to hide that I think.
Groovous :)

go into console and type in:

ListPlayers(); [enter]
[find the ID you need]
[example: 2050 "|lll|l"]
say(0, "#untent " @ Client::getName(2050));

that will automatically enter in the proper name, no matter how hard to identify.

Yup.  That's probably going to be the best way until I make it accept userIDs.

Thanks, evil

I dunno if its the right thread to post this in...

How would I jail  a char name such as this "|llll|l|"

I tryed to guess the name, but i couldnt...

I tyed to jail like this.. but it didnt work.. lol

say(0, "#confine @ Client::getName(2050) 300");

   I was wondering if anyone knew a diffrent way to jail a hard to indentify character name.

function jailhim(%id, %time)
{
say(0, "#jail " @ Client::getName(%id) @ " " @ %time);
}

to use:
jailhim(2050, 300);

would say to jail player 2050 for 300 seconds.

P.S. - the problem you are having GE is that you are putting the " and @'s in the wrong places or not at all.

say(0, "#jail " @ Client::getName(2050) @ " 300");

Hope this helps...
