noting on lidges remarks:

rundll and rundll32 are both microsoft windows programs that....run dll's. this is a necessary task to run ur computer. however there is also a virus that refers to itself as this it can go under any of the following names:

W32.Miroot.Worm, W32/Legemer.Worm, W32.HLLW.Sanker, PWSteal.Banpaes.D

otherwise it runs ur dll files when needed. some websites will tell you that windows 2000/xp/2003 all do not have this program but both of my computers have xp and both have had rundll on since we ordered them. If ur not certain that this file is a virus then leave it or u'll create more problems. check to make sure that the root path is C:\Windows\Rundll.exe, if its not it shouldn't be running and you probably have one of the viruses above.

YEah forkin malarkey... sorry for the cussin' but I am extreemley careful before I download and install malarkey... so this has be a bit ticked off... looks like it doesn't much matter anymore anyway.  I miss my firewall router.
:-(

Thanks for the info.  I still cannot find it or remove it... so maybe it's a new variant.  That is pretty common these days.  Either that or an other new crappy virus that does the same garbage.  The insane thing is that I did take files on to my extra drive from a computer I did know to be infected and I did scan them and it did remove the PWstealers... so I'm still thinking it's a new variant.  Crap whatever it is.

I usually am on top of this thing, but I figure our school network is compromised anyway, since I could easily packet sniff anyone in my building (provided I had the software, which I do not, to do so.)  I don't do much of anything that requires a secure connection on here anyway.

Try getting TuneUp or 1-click maintenance (Sped in spelling)

I use Ad-aware for the easy stuff to get rid of, then Spybot S&D for the stuff adaware doesnt pick up on, and I have 1-click and TuneUp as well. Only thing thats ever gotten through is "about: blank"

"about: " is a nasty nasty thing... but theres a program just for it to get rid of it.

In other news... None of those programs search any of your drives except your host drive (C: in most cases) and thus enable certain spywares to continue existance.

Ad-Aware can check all your drives.  Just check your preferences:
