Tribes 2, aside from the bad gameplay, still had great potential. It's very modible (Just look at construction!) and the graphics are at least 10x better than Tribes. Darwin, what was that game you were talking about a while ago? Legends? I downloaded it but couldn't get it to work. It looked awesome though, but I don't think anyone played it

I assume that I'm the only person who liked Tribes 2's MP better than Tribes 1's.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

You assume correctly.

What's up Oz? I came back too, as you can see. I'm rather embarassed with myself for doing so, but that's only to be expected. You should reinstall Tribes. It's still great fun. I play Base LT regularly, though no TAC servers are up anymore. It's sad to see such a masterpiece age like this. Tribes will always be the best FPS ever made, in my opinion. No other FPS I've ever played even comes close to matching the gameplay depth of base Tribes.

Not true! I do like the multiplayer. If you've ever played in servers such as Houston Vehicles or Miami something...its extremely fun. There are around 50 or 60 people playing at one time, and it's just intense. What I meant by saying "aside from the gameplay" is that it didnt have the same feel as tribes 1. Im not sure if thats a good thing or not, but I know that I like tribes 2. I think the problem was just its publicitiy, just like T:V. No one knows how good it is =\

Name is Drakius.. I am in Cynosure. I'm sure I've probably killed you if you are in TMO =).

I haven't logged in for like a week though. I wanted to get back in and tune my 1-shot mail wearers trick.

If anyone cares... We just got all the way up to Majordomo.. Perdition's is so close to being mine.

lol Silv.. Everyone comes back. I have reinstalled Tribes and played the Vengeance mod a little.. The buckler/rocket pod is overpowered. No TAC anymore? TAC was fun.. Had some pretty funny moments in that mod.

I've now uninstalled vengeance already.. I see how the netcode is bugged.. My MAs just aren't what they should be. Discs fly right through people and it doesn't register MAs kills like it should.

It is amazing though when you can go back to a game like Tribes and still pull off some amazing shots. I bucklered several people MA the other day.. was fun.

I would play WoW more.. I just don't seem to get as much out of it as I used to.. I mean.. The only PvE is in a 40 man raid, and the only PvP is in BG which isn't my style.. Granted I love sitting in BRM sometimes, but HKs aren't easy when you have to deal with groups of people.

To someone who doesn't play World of Warcraft, that made zero sense.

PvE: Plaver fights the game creatures, not other players.
40 man raid: 40 players grouped and fighting together to defeat 1 or sometimes 2 or 3 enemies. Also sometimes used to fight other groups of 40 man raids in
PvP: Player vs. Player. Players fight and kill eachother.
BG: Battle Grounds. A zone in the game where opposing factions fight in large scale battles to achieve various goals.
BRM: Black Rock Mountain. A higher level zone which is the entrance to several other zones.
HK: Honor Kills. You recieve an HK point when you kill another player (or one of the opposing faction's leaders).

Name doesn't sound familiar to me, UG. I'm Vivax, maybe that rings a bell. I got my Honor rank up to Legionaire.. had a few big weeks with 55k+ CP, and that was before the battlegrounds. Ever since the battlegrounds came out I lost taste in the PvP scene. I could never get into Alterac Valley... it just seems like Tarren Mill with harder guards. And the Alliance on our server don't seem to do Warsong Gulch so much... last time I tried to get in there with my Rogue there were 0 instances going =(

We are doing MC 2 nights a week and Onyxia once a week nowadays.

Vivax.. Yeah that rings a bell. I'm gonna have to check my kill/death logs to find out if we have encountered eachother before.

AV isn't for rogues. I just don't see any fun in it. I like WG, but I could say the same about horde =). Every time I tried WG, I've had to wait over an hour to get in.. Not worth it. I don't mind much anymore anyway.. The only people who are going to make High Warlord/Grand Marshal are little kids who don't have to do anything but live in BG. You seriously have to have close to 100k+ honor every week to progress now.

Though I honestly don't care much for battlegrounds, I do have to say it has cut down on the level 60s farming level 30s for the fun of it. Last time I went through STV, I had actually helped a 36 Taren warrior kill some trolls. Granted I had killed him later when I saw him try to kill an alliance in Nessingway's. You don't see many friendly horde encounters anymore. Yeah it is a PvP server, but you kinda miss those cool moments. Like I remember running through STV in my 30s and this 60 warrior charged me, and hit me once. I /cry and he stopped /sorry and walked away.

Silv, I should probably stop with all the jargon, hehe.

I liked it better before BG. I was getting 35-50k CP a day for the first week of the honor system. Now I play a 42 warlock on Gurubashi.
