My new project

This is the new guitar im making. I got bored, and I had a cheapo guitar laying around so I decided to paint it up, and throw some good pickups in it. Im going for an EVH paint job. Tell me what you think.

I just noticed that the design isnt the same on yours as it in the picture :-p Many lines are on in the same place or at the same angle  :P

Well it captured the basic idea very well. Nice job! seriously, thats awesome. How did u paint the lines? Masking tape and spray cans?

Yeah, alot of masking tape, a can of primer, red, pearl white, and gloss black. It wasn't really that hard. Its just tedious to do every line perfectly. The picture doesnt show the pain in the ass line that goes around the outside edge of the guitar. I have a before pain job picture.... sord of.

You can see the black and white guitar to the left of the amp in the midst of the mess I call my room.

I let the red dry for about 2 hours. After that I started taping it off to put the stripes on. I let each set of stripes I painted dry for about 15-20 mins. After I felt that I had enough stripes I sprayed on some clear coat and let that dry for the rest of the day. 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM. While the clear coat dried I wired up all the pickups and pots, chopped up the pick guard, and replaced the nut on the neck. From there its just slapping parts together and plugging in your new guitar!  8)

hahaha. What exactly does the clear coat do? Cuz they say use that for the case modding, but if u use that, then why would u need things like Hand Glaze and Rubbing Compound to shine it up?
