Color changing LED mod

Here is a mod I have started on today.  The front of an Aspire X-Dreamer II case comes stock with bright blue LEDs.  After a couple years I have tired of these, so I ordered six 5mm color changing LEDs, which came in today.  I dont have my soldering iron, so I just duct-tape tested one for now.  The 5 remaining will be installed after I can get ahold of a soldering iron.

I think its pretty spiffy.  Cant wait to see 6 of them glowing in unison!
Also, my computer isnt that loud, I swear it.  The camera has a sensitive microphone.

Finished the mod, and I'm kind of upset/unimpressed.  The LED's themselves look great, but they dont stay in sync for even one iteration.  They all start out red, and the spread by which they do not match up continues to grow and grow.  This could be a voltage issue, perhaps, as maybe some LED's recieve slightly more voltage than others?

Any ideas?

Actually I kinda care...ive been looking into getting a new case for a long time, and one thing i really want is LEDs. Unfortunately I dont know jack about that kind of stuff (last time I tried hooking lights up to my computer, the wires crossed one too many times and...well...byebye power supply.)

i do however have a friend who mods his case all the time, from lights to fans to front power panels to windows to..well whatever. I'll ask him and see what he thinks.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

It doesnt suck too bad, but I wish it would work the way I planned it:

After a minute or so, it loses sync completely, so every LED is basicly doing its own thing.

Darwin, how are the LEDs hooked up for power? Is it straight to the power supply per light? Or do they all connect on some sort of board, which then connects to the PSU?

These are connected via the original cabling that powered the original blue LED's.  That is, I am certain that the voltage running through them is good.  The wires somewhere down the line are plugged into a molex connector, I believe.  There are three LED's per cable, daisy chain fasion.

Do they have 1 pin per color on each LED? Got any close up pictures of the connections, perhaps?

The LED's are two pronged, just as most other LEDs are.

well dur....farkin daisy chaining...they need to all be hooked straight one wire each if you want perfect results
