Classical Music Help
« on: July 20, 2006 10:51 pm CDT »
I was just watching some young star show, and this girl played a piece on the piano and I'm trying to figure out who did it and what it was called.

It's all on the piano, and it's used in a lot of halloween themes..  usually on an organ.

The first three notes are like this

- _ -

The first note is the same as the third, and the third note is stretched a little..  then it goes down gradually like 8 keys.  It's a hard description but if anyone can figure it out i'll appreciate it.

Toccata and Fugue in D minor by Johann Sebastian Bach

I think that's the one you're thinking of.

As a side note, there is some debate about whether or not Bach wrote that piece at all. It is suggested that he only transcribed it to Organ and that it was originally written (by someone else) for violin.
