DVD Burning
« on: March 9, 2007 01:57 pm CST »
I've been trying to burn some movies lately. I use Nero 7 Ultra Edition and while a few turned out well, the others are skipping and just pausing horribly. It takes about 3 hours for a movie to transcode and burn, and also takes up about 90% of cpu. It is used on a computer the whole family uses so there are other programs running in the background.
I don't think its my dvd player because it lags and skips around the same spot when i take it on and put it back in. There is nothing wrong with the movie before being burned

Any help would be welcomed. Thanks

Dude. If it takes 90% of your cpu...Get new ram and a new cpu. And don't run anything at all while burning. A DVD for me takes like 8 minutes - 30 min.

He said it's the transcoding that takes his CPU time.  That's completely normal.

As for skipping and pausing, my guess is either a malarkeytastic DVD player or crapola media.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.
