You like free stuff? How about a free video game?

A free game from Goozex, I malarkey you not.

Okay, so I hear you saying...

"What's the catch?"

Outside of spending about 10 minutes or so creating an account, choosing a game, than waiting for it to get to you?  Nothing.  If you're worried about spam mail, hotmail.com has plenty of space waiting greedily for canned mystery meat.

Quote
"But that doesn't make sense!  How can they give away games for free!?"

That's the beauty of it, they're not.  They don't give you the game.  Someone with an account does.  All that this company does is act as a sort of insurance policy in case you get screwed out of a trade.  They'll refund you your trade points, and your trade credit, which doesn't cost them a dime (outside of lost bandwidth).

Quote
"Wait, trade points?  Trade credits?  Aha!  I knew it cost money!"

Okay, hold it right there unsavory woman.  I told you it was free didn't I?  This is a promotional thing Goozex is doing.  They give you 100 trade points, and 1 trade credit, just for signing up.  They're doing thi...

"What are points and credits, wtf?"

Stop interrupting me!  I'm getting to that!

"Damn, sorry...  (whiny unsavory woman)"

*sigh*

Anyways.  They're doing this until June 30th, so if you're feeling a bit apprehensive, you can wait until someone gets a confirmed trade.  I haven't yet, but that's because the person sending me mine didn't pay enough for shipping.  It should be here by Tuesday though.

Now, trade points are earned by trading games to other members.  Each game is assigned a point value based on how new/popular/rare it is.  The least popular, common, and old games are going to be 100 points each.  This doesn't mean bad games are only 100 points, this just means that they're either just bad, very common, or very unpopular.  Halo 2, for example, goes for 100 points, and although it's a good game, and popular, it's also extremely common.

If you decide to trade games, you put the games up on the site that you have available.  Someone will request it, and if you're first on the list, you get a match.  You have about a day to confirm your match, then 3 days to send it to them.  When you send it, be sure to send it first class, and keep your tracking number.  Making sure you monitor your game's progress is YOUR responsibility.  If the person claims they didn't get it, and you don't have a tracking number, you're screwed.

As for trade credits..  You need to spend one credit and the necessary amount of trade points to "buy" a game.  Each credit costs 1 dollar.  You don't need credits to send someone a game though.  This is primarily how goozex makes their money.

"Okay, sounds cool.  I'll bite..  How do I do this?  Where do I go?  FREE GAME WANT!"

Just click this link right here:

Create an account, and then choose your game and platform.  Once you've picked on, click "Add to requests".  You can check your requests to see if someone's accepted your trade, and is sending you a game.  Yes, you need to put in your mailing address, since someone will be mailing you the game.

"Wait, wtf.  This looks like a referral link!"

*update*

Game received today.  Not only that, but after giving feedback, I got two more trade credits and 200 more points.

So, I can get 2 more 100 point games, or one more 200 point game.  Snazzy.

Hah, this is pretty awesome.

So far, I've gotten 2 games.  Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders was great.  Also got Dynasy Warriors 4 in, which is always fun.

Now I have SSX 3 on the way.  Played the first two, and heard many a good thing about this one.  I really liked SSX, so I'm sure I won't be disappointed.
