Presidential Election 2008
« on: November 5, 2008 12:57 am CST »
Who did you vote for?  Why?

I voted for Barack, because he is the malarkey, and I think his economic policies are better than McCain's.  I'm glad these last, horrible 8 years didnt turn into 12 or 16.

I think Ron Paul would of made a better of the two.

I wasn't thrilled about McCain, but it isn't fair to label him as Bush II.  I was even less excited about Obama because I am rabidly anti-socialist and he seems quite determined to limit or ban the weapons I hold so dearly.  Ballistic sports are about the only thing left in life that genuinely excites me in a grand way.  It's fun to try and hit hard to make targets.  Anyway, since I live in Kansas and had no doubt about McCain taking the victory, I voted for Bob Barr.

Hm...

I voted "No Thank You" for president.
I live in California.

I too do not like governmental socialism.
Hell... I do not even like government!

In any case we look at... all of the candidates want to regulate some thing that's none of their forking business.

Unfortunately, that's the name of the game.  Each person adds their touch to the list of stuff we ban, and over time that really adds up to where about everything is either banned or has been attempted to be banned by SOMEone.  Very unfortunate, isn't it?

Very in-forking-sane.

Looking at B's ideas through a critical lens reveals he still doesn't give a malarkey about the working people either.

I'm pretty concerned with the B-Man's socialist tendencies and complete disregard for 2nd amendment rights.

If you want to have a police state with forced economics and profiteering companies then disregarding each freedom we have in "liberal" ways is the best way to go.

"Liberal" isn't even used to describe liberal things.  Liberal used to mean "freedom to choose" and yet we persistently see self proclaimed "liberals" against a person's freedom of choice to bear arms (among many other things).

Same goes for "Conservative".  "Conservatives" persistently complain about taxes, government spending and governmental control of private freedoms, then the elected "conservative" representatives vote for more government spending and for more control of private freedoms of choice (abortion, marriage, etc..) both of which then prompt them to "regretfully inform us of a need for higher taxes" or a selling out of this country to other countries, like China.

Both of these routes ultimately appear to lead to a slave society where the corporate leaders win and everyone else keeps voting for "the lesser of two evils" because the other options are publicly ridiculed, killed or ignored for being "conspiracy theorists".

I just want freedom, damn-it.  I don't want the "american dream" or to control my neighbor.  I simply want to survive by my own means with out other people meddling with my life.  Hard to find that in any "civilized" culture where the things that drive people tend to be basic animal ambition and "something to do because I am bored".

Anyway... sorry about the ramble; all this political malarkey really does not make sense to me; it's like everyone is lazy as hell and trying to use the hard workers as much as possible with out th hard workers getting pissed and revolting.

Peace!

I voted for John McCain because we need to win the war in Iraq, guns are cool, no increased taxes, pro-life, drill for more oil at home, and aims to cut wasteful gov't spending.  I've considered Obama but he's a bit more liberal than I originally thought.

How much damage can one dude really do in four years?  Unless things start going swimmingly, Obama is likely to be a one-termer.  He is inheriting a lot of problems and bullmalarkey from the last administration.
