WorldCraft Help - Exporting

I now know #tribesrpg isn't a good place to turn to help...

Anyways, I got WC working...except one thing--getting my file into tribes. I read the tutorial, and they said to do the following in my 'Run Map' options tab screen thingy.

So here's what I put:








When I hit Go!, it says it couldn't build the .zvl file. Any suggestions?

Oh, and it's in a .rmf format...

Any help appreciated!

It looks like the same document as mine, so assuming that. I think you should re-read these steps (On yours, I didnt feel like posting everything and uploading pictures. But, anyways it works, I've done it before, its just a pain in the ass, thats all. Most importantly, make sure you have map2zvl.exe, its kinda what your looking for I guess, If you didn't get it with WC, then try the TribesToolsKit, Or I can send it to you via AIM/ICQ.

Yes, that's exctly how mine is. Yet it doesn't build the .zvl file. Here's the prompt when I run it:

Yet the directory for WC is c:\Program Files\WorldCraft....does this help at all? I guess I don't understand what they're saying to do...

Yea, you'd hardly guess (from reading the newbie guide) that Toaster isn't very helpful. He just gave me a link to Google. *sniffle*

Anyways, here's some screens of what I did so far. I have to learn how to curve edges, like to make spikes and malarkey.











Yea, and I still need help with exporting 'em. Thanks in advance...

If it won't work that way, write a little script for it then.  In the folder with all the programs, (ie  map2zvl.exe, mapconveter.exe, zedshape.exe, and vmerge.exe)

Create a notepad file.
Replace names as desired, keep the order and extensions the same.

Code: [Select]
mapconverter myshape.map myshape2.map
map2zvl myshape2.map myshape.zvl
zedshape myshape.zvl -h
vmerge myvol.vol myshape.div

 
Save As... myshape.bat

Then double-click and run it, you should end up with the files you need in that folder.

And all the helpful people in #tribesrpg, like Coca, idle. SirSteven is cool, he may help you, unless you annoy him.  :wink:
Nice stuff, the longer you play with it, the more complex you can get, find and download a program called Wally and you can make your own textures. (And something to watch for, correct me if I'm wrong but, I think tribes has problems with any rounds that have more then 8 sides.)

How about renaming it to myshape.map, then doing it.  :shock:
What version of WC are you using? mapconverter.exe changes WC 3.3 to 2.1
Since we're on the subject, does anyone have a sizing ratio for WorldCraft to Tribes, like 1 = 1 meter in tribes?

I'm using version 3.3. And they already are in .map format! I tried what you said, but it gave me some error. And I still need the TRPG WAD FILE! Argh.  :twisted:

I'm sorry, I dunno what your doing wrong. Maybe one of the .exe files is corrupted, maybe its the .map file. But really, I'm thinking your doing something wrong, can think of what though.

Bleah, this always seems to go wrong for me. Oh well, I've got a friend who can do it. But I still need the rpg textures .wad file!!!
