Anyone know where I can get a good, cheap firewire to port my Panasonic PV-DV53 to my computer so I can transfer movies to my hard drive?

Go to compusa.  A PCI or PC card firewire card go for under $50.

Wait.. can you use the same connector/wire that I use for my digital camera? The holes in both my camera and camcorder looks exactly the same.

I personally like to champion USB 2.0 over Firewire, but I think Firewire is probably best for those sorts of things.  It's more mature in that field and whatnot.

The controller ports on an xbox are USB, heh

I got a 5-port USB controller on eBay for probably $25 shipped.  There are also firewire and USB/Firewire combo cards for about the same price.  Happy hunting.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

Get a FireWire card, and you will probably have to buy a seperate wire that is firewire on one end, and fits your digi cam on the other (they are around 20-25$).

Hes probably talking about 4 pin and 6 pin connectors for firewire.  Well, uhh, if your camcorder cable does not fit the ports on the firewire card, you may need to get a 4-pin to 6-pin converter.  I have to use one for my Ipod since my laptop doesnt support 6 pin.
