Monster in Ktown
« on: February 22, 2004 01:44 pm CST »
Ok this has become a big issue over the past few days. I've seen serveral people lead centruians into town as well as the monsters from the ruins and the mines. They "claim" that they followed them. But that's crap. You would have to be walking extremly slow for a monster to follow you anywhere. They stop trying after you're out of there line of vision. I think this is a really horrible thing to do. You can just bring monsters out of their zones and bring them into a town. Ktown is where all the newbies spawn and you all know damn well that they will kill them all. I just think it shows a complete lack of disrespect for the game and the players.  I've seen several people do this and they all think it's a big joke. It's not a joke. Cant you find something better to do??

It is funny. Heaven forbid people do something other than standing behind a wall swinging at bots.

You can call it funny if you want, but if I catch you doing it on my server I'll clear your character.  I feel like being a unsavory woman.

Just don't do it.  If you want spice, lead it into a pit and kill it there.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

hmmm....

I haven't been on in 3 weeks, but I led an orc to the bridge and tented him in place... I was only a level 11 or so (rl 0) but I didn't mean any harm.  I was the lowest level on there. :-D

Anyway... I suggested (back when trpg 6.0 was "making") that they should have an area in the bot loadout data for each bot that will zone check if the value is set "1" (rather than 0) and kill the bot when it is in the unknown zone, or a town zone.  The zone check could be done once every minute (or 5?)... I think that should help a bit.

Of course, if this is done, then the person able to make bot loadouts for quests and such would need the loadout # command modified to add a final value on the string which would be 0 (or 1) to disable this feature on quest bots.

I've kicked and jailed serveral people for doing this and have also threatened to temp ban. But abbadon thinks it's a big joke. Not only him but several other people. They think it's really funny. hahah it's NOT!
