Mountain
Great Furnace

War Elemental
Slith Firewalker
Goblin Grappler

Lightning Bolt
Shock
Volcanic Hammer
Seething Song
Flaring Pain
Pulse of the Forge
Shower of Sparks
Thunderbolt

Fireshrieker
Extraplaner Lens

Mob Mentality
Reflexes

total of 56 cards, i am trying to get it to the minimum 60... but its tough.

use of the deck:

use the goblin grappler's to kill the defending player's defensive creatures.. then attack with the slith firewalker to give it +1/+1.

get the war elemental into play and use as much damage on the other player as you have in your hand... because for every 1 damage done to the opponent... you put a permanent +1/+1 counter on war elemental.

other notes: extraplaner lens... gives you 2 red mana in your mana pool for every 1 mountain you tap.  put fireshrieker on the war elemental to give it double strike (does first strike damage plus its normal combat damage).  Flaring Pain makes it so damage cannot be prevented for a turn.  Few other nice cards in there.

its close.  it is type 1 and 1.5 legal... extended and type 2 illegal...

so it's borderline.

Aside from actual tourny winner decks, everyone usually builds their own unless they are nub.

Magic and AD&D were great passtimes.

The old card game?

What edditions are we talking about here?

I played with:
Revised
a few dark cards
a few 4th editions cards (my last couple months)
a few fallen empires (cause damn a pack of 15 for 10-25 cents was cheap!)
I also had some of those... "legends" cards, but I wasn't sure if that was their actual name... they had the little broken looking column symbol on them.

Anyway... I played Blue and White... a theoretically good combination but with the new editions it proved less than stellar, especially vs red and black... curse you red and black players, for those are the most wussified colors of magic! ;-)

Well.. it was fun for a couple years, but I starte dto realise how much time and money I was spending on a simple card game that was allways requiring more money to keep updated on editions... and I wasn't interested in learning the info about 150 new cards every 6 months.

I sold all of my cards (street value at the time of more than 500$ if sold properly) to a friend of mine for 100$.

He took them down to Berkeley and re-sold the ones he was not interested in, and kept the 10-20 he had been bugging for me to sell/trade to him for the past year or two.  He made 300$ on the ones he could sell, after the 100 he had initially paid to me, and got all the cards he wanted.  Good riddance.... I would still be playing that acursed card game if it wasn't for him! :-)

Peace.

Actually I am refering to all editions, and I would love to get my hands on a a few hundred cards for $100 of nothing but beta, unlimited, revised, and alpha cards...  :).

My biggest challenge comes in another 6 months, I am on a quest to build a badass Type 2 deck, and Type 2 decks are the hardest decks in magic to build just because 90%of magic cards cannot be used in a Type 2 Tournament deck.

PS - I am still looking for 4 Gauntlet of Might 's for a really good price... anyone know where I can snag a few?

I have a killer unglued deck.  I have never lost a single match with it.
