Last i checked, web browsers don't stop spam, or have anything to do with spam at all. popups yes, spyware, there is barely a difference between the two, only difference is that mozilla prevents popups better. IE in SP2 is far better then firefox in spyware prevention, no only does it not allow popups, but it also blocks local javascript of any kind.

so are we talking about spyware or spam?

Im using Norton Firewall 2003 and it stops pop ups and java scripts as well.. and I also recentily got SP2.. so now I have 2 things fighting pop-ups .. this is the way surfin the web was ment to be :P

The posted site allegedly targets and reloads images from servers of thse who send spam to people.

Since so many people are against spam to begin with, you would think no one would mind using their bandwidth for a few nice DOS attacks.

I concur. If i met the guy that created gator orignally, i'd slap him. Then set his house on fire.. yeah... or something

and i still think people are confused as to the difference between spam and spyware. 2 different things.
