Klipsch Ultra 5.1 vs Logitech Z-680

Which system is better and why.  For purposes of reference, which is better for overall sound quality when plugged into a computer.

ability to shut chris down from half way down the hall = ++++

the klipsch system allows you to add in multiple subwoofers to the same system, which means thumping power x3.  the 680's themselves have a 188w sub that peaks at 500 with 10% THD so it sounds like crap whereas the klipsch subs peak at 500 with 3% THD.  and i backed off volume because usually higher volume = more % THD loss and when I want to watch movies, clarity counts more than volume.  I can hear my current 2.1 sattelites all the way down the hall, so......

and for right now, i need a sound system, i can worry about building a custom setup for next year when i am back in washington for the summer and prices are rock bottom compared to the rest of the usa.

anyways, to go with the half assed specs i am after now, it doesn't need to hit the highs because the highs just destroy your ears but a solid mid range for dvds and gaming would be awsome even if it means the treble is a little deeper than normal.  but i want a system that can put out some hardcore thumping.  there are too many 680 systems currently on the floor and all their half assed bass drives me insane when i try to study, it isn't even clear bass lines, its just blah.  there are around 6-7 680 systems currently setup on our floor and seem to be working very well.
