« on: November 13, 2004 02:29 am CST »
Anyone else feel that games are a COMPLETE waste of life? And that they screw up SO MUCH stuff? I think they are for me, BUT I CAN'T BREAK THE HABIT!!! I'm so forking addicted, it's insane. If you have once been a user, but have broken the addiction, HELP ME!!! LOL please! I don't want to look back and wonder why I wasted my life!!!

Yeah, it wastes your life.  My problem is I can't get addicted like I used to.  I used to sit at a computer playing Quake for as long as I could stay awake.  I just can't do that anymore...I've never found a game that was as addictive, even in RPGs.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

Same here, I miss being addicted.. I miss the feeling and I can't get it anymore. After playing multi-player games online, I can no longer play platform games anymore.. they might suck me in for a day or two.. but they always end up gathering dust in my basement before I take the time to beat them.  :?

Well I was that way with PCRPG and then I just took a step back from the computer and realised it wasn't worth it any longer. I no longer play tribes. I do play games like AA. I just take days off between game play. That way it makes it fun. Try finding something else that intrests you to take your mind off the computer. Maybe a girlfriend or regular friends that like to go out of the house into the sunlight would help.

Well I NEVER play console games anymore! I used to LOVE console RPGs, but now I just play DAOC all the time lol. I also do it, only because I don't watch t.v., so that's what I usually do instead of t.v. *sigh* but I hope it will go away soon! lol

i guess you can say i got addicted to games when i was freshmen in high school. i live at least 20 mins from my friends and 45 mins from school so if i want to do something, i have to drive. so it was hard cus you cant just walk to your friends house or take a quick drive when something happens. so i just sat at home alot and get bored so i played tribes. and i didnt work.

best thing to do is get a hobby like dirt bike riding and a job and you wont have time to get addicted to games

I was in exactly the same situation. My hobby became games. I've been addicted to Tribes for 3 years. But now, along comes WoW. I'm completely obbsessed with this game. I've played it 28 hours in the last 48.

I remember when Quake 2 ruled my life.  Those were really happy times tho.  I went to competitions and made alot of friends because of that game.
