Interesting Anecdote about Enterprise
« on: July 20, 2006 09:40 pm CDT »
Here's an interesting piece of information if you like the series:

In an episode of Enterprise titled "Impulse", crazed vulcans begin to flood a room with the trapped Enterprise officers with "hexaflourine".  There are two possible substances that could be called "hexaflourine" in real life:  1) uranium hexaflouride and 2) sulfur hexaflouride.  The first is used to enrich nuclear material and is highly toxic.  Considering that the vulcans aren't known to have any nuclear processes on their ships, they'd have no reason to store the material.  Sulfur hexaflouride is used commonly in electronics such as high voltage circuit breakers, something I'd expect to find on a starship regardless of species.  It, however, is a colorless, odorless, non-flammable, non-toxic gas.  It seems the Enterprise crew was in little real danger afterall.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

lmao. Where did you get that info?
Althought I suppose chemical engineers could create a third 'hexaflourine' gas in 100 years
