Frets on Fire!

windows link:  http://louhi.kempele.fi/~skyostil/uv/fr ... -win32.zip

linux link:

I have played this game all morning!  My wrist is killing me!  There's only three songs at the moment in the game, but I have a friend who has the guitar hero dvd, so we stuck it in and imported more songs from the original game!

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

It's like DDR (step on arrows on a pad to match arrows on a screen following a beat in a song) or Karaoke Revolution (sing a song and match the notes as acurately as possible). You use a Guitar controller with buttons on it to match notes on the screen to play the song.

Could we have a show of hands of those of you who have "Guitar controllers" for your PC's/MAC's/*nix boxes.

.....anyone...........anyone.........Bueller..........

Can this be played with a keyboard, joystick or mouse instead....is there a "virtual" guitar controller available?

Not bringing you down...sounds like fun and all, but I dont know enough about it.  Guess I should google a bit.

I hate how bad the game is at recognizing keys.  Half the time when you are dead-on it unsavory womanes at you.  You have to do them a little bit late for it to not penalize you.

You play it using your keyboard.

And yeah, the game, in my opinion, is very stiff when it comes to getting your timing down.  Me and another roomate have the basic three songs almost mastered.  We can play the second song on medium with the monitor completely off, thats how much we have played.

Get the guitar and use a PS2 to USB.

I use this one for my DDR pads.

I was thinking of getting this prog and a controller, but then I realized....I have real guitars, amps, etc and I hardly play those....

This thing would get a couple hours of my time, then end up on a shelf collecting dust for eternity.

Dude, just try playing it using your keyboard.  Frets on Fire was made to be played using a computer keyboard.  I mean, with all this discussion, why have you not even tried it?
