need help with commands
« on: March 23, 2003 01:53 pm CST »
I was trying to host an undedicated tribes rpg server, but I couldn't figure out how to use admin commands and stuff. How do I become an admin when I host a server?  :?:

There's a whole list of them. I don't have a copy of it myself... But, to answer your specific question...

#admin [password that you set]

eViL, you were probably the coolest but most misunderstood person in this community.. maybe the rest will find out how cool of a person you are some day, and don't get too mad at the people who dont understand you.. its their loss in the end.

>_<

[Tribes Directory]\RPG\rpgserv.exe

Use that to run a dedicated server. You can set your passwords with a user-friendly (*shudder*) interface, since you seem new. After it's running, you can connect to it in your normal Tribes just like any other server.

Don't use rpgserv... It sucks ass and crashes servers..

If you want to host a non-dedicated server, open up your autoexec.cs

insert this line

$AdminPassword[5] = "changeme";

Save it and close..

Click start run.. yourtribesdir/Tribes.exe -mod rpg

You should know what to do from there.. #admin changeme would give you admin 5

For a dedicated server..

There are many different ways to run a dedicated server.. The best way I have seen is running through infinity spawn.

If you would like to run a dedicated server, I can make a .bat for you and give you some scripts that will make things a tad easier on you...

But I won't do this unless you are going ot make a perm dedicated server.
