The Orange Box!

Is fun. TF2 is great, the best class-dependent game I've played since Tribes. Most class games (DoD, BF2, ect) you really feel like you're just playing the same thing...with just different weapons. TF2 you have to do what your class is good at, and they're all balanced quite well. A lot of fun there.

Portal is also great. It's pretty short and only single player, but it's a really fun puzzle game. Also, the ending song is amazing.

HL2 - Fun game, 'nuff said.
HL2: Ep 1 - The story continues, I haven't finished it, yet.
HL2: Ep 2 - The story continues, I haven't started, yet.

Let me know if anyone picks this up and likes playing TF2, just put up your Steam ID.

Well, it can't be gifted like the HL2 and Ep1 can be, so probably not. Ep2 deals with Portals, from what I've read, though. Looks like Ep3 could have a lot more of that in there.
Also, there's a hack to get the Portal gun into HL2. Google for it, it's pretty fun.

Aperture Labs is sort of similar to Black Mesa, they competed for funding. If you watch your surroundings as you play you see that Black Mesa had a significantly larger portion of funding because Aperture was failing to show results with their portal research. So they do mention Black Mesa. Ep2 makes mention of Aperture and it's assumed that it will start to take a much larger role in the HL series once Ep3 comes out.
Portal is...amazing. The dialog is quite amusing, the Puzzles aren't impossibly challenging, I think the average time it takes people to finish is around 2-3 hours, and, for me, the ending was both sad and hilarious at the same time. I loved it.
Also, the turrets just creep me the hell out. They sound so innocent..while they want to kill you.

I have Orange Box.
I think every game in that package is HAWT!
Uh and ya, the turrets, lol nothing like a calm killing sense of humor.
I made it 1/2 way through HL2 episode 2 before I quit it and realized how good it is.  I stoped and decided to play in order.  I play HL2 Ep. 1 and the HL2 (which I am not working on) and then I will go back and finish HL2 Ep. 2.
Team fortress? One word... WHOOHOO!
Is that a word?  Oh well, close enough.

It's a great set of games.  Portal was way too short though.  Gonna have to work on the achievements.

Only two more achievements left to get on HL EP:2

I just got the OB for Christmas.  Nerdgasm @ portal.  I just sat there for like 20 minutes watching me fall from a portal I put on the ceiling through a portal I put on the ground.  Hehe.

I just started Episode one, but it'll take me a while before I'll be able to beat it.

I sat there and played TF2 for at least 5 hours straight before I realized what had happened.  I loved it so much.  The scout is so far my favorite class.  I just love doing the jump to dodge bullets in mid air.  On one of the CTF maps, it's just so much fun to jump from the second floor of my base to the roof of the bridge and then jump from there to their base and run for the flag.  It's great.

Episode 1 I beat back when I got it.. it's a very small game.

Haven't played the rest of it (except for HL2, that is.)

Frankly.. I like tribes and miss the glory days :-(

Steam says you only played TF2 for .9 hours.  Anyone who has it should give it a try. It's a game that just feels fun.  Be a pyro for awhile and torch some spies in your base for some fun.

Re: Portal

How/Where do you do the Fall 30,000 feet and jump 300 feet achievements?

Got both those achievements. 30,000 feet is a lot further than I thought.  I never waited long enough the first time I tried it.

I've been waiting for some money to come along to play Episode 2.  I'm putting in with a couple companies and will hopefully have cash again soon.  Maybe I should hold off on it like I did with Ep 1 for a long time so it doesn't seem so long before Ep 3.  :)

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.
