I haven't tried Crysis or the demo yet, but I'm seriously thinking about buying the game. Does anyone know if I can run it decently on the following hardware?
Windows XP SP2
Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+ (2.41 GHz)
2 GB RAM, Corsair PC2 800 DDR2
GeForce 7900 GT/GTO
1280 x 1024 resolution

You should be able to run it decently, my specs are crap and I can run it at 1280x1024 at 40 frames on medium 3 ghz intel p4, 2 gigs ram, ATI 1950 Pro, Windows XP SP2

Ouch. My card's a 256 MB. At my monitor's native resolution, I'll be doing a lot less than 32.2 frames per second on medium, looks like. This sucks. A guy on newegg who has/had similar specs said he got 25-30 fps, although he had Vista, an Athlon 64 X2 at 2.6 GHz, 3 GB RAM, and 1024 x 768 res. Guess I'm gonna have to upgrade to do anything above low settings. *sigh*
(Edit: On the other hand, the posters here indicate I might be able to run it ok if I turn off some effects:

Crysis takes a large hit from a 256MB frame buffer vs. 512MB. You could likely play the game, but your framerates will often be lower than you'd like.

As a point of history: Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004. That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.
If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at

.
If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years. Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

You should get yourself a 8800 GT (512 mb version) for around 240(if the demand wasn't so high, they would retail at around 180), or the new GTX's with the new G92 core. If you like ATI, a 3870 is almost neck and neck with the 8800GT, and the 800GT outperforms the older 8800GTS's and the old 8800GTX's in most benchmarks.
