I heard about this from a friend nearly a year ago, but I never realized how wide-spread it was until just a few hours ago. For those who are unaware, it's essentially a massive game of tag played on college campuses. Games can last for days, or even weeks, and can encompass hundreds of students.
It all starts with one zombie. That zombie must tag (playing) humans which in turn tag more. If a zombie doesn't tag a human within 48 hours, it starves to death. Zombies can run, so they are VERY dangerous!
Conversely, the humans must survive by working in teams and bunkering up. But in order to keep people from just sitting in a bunker all day, humans and zombies are periodically given "missions" to get them outside. Humans have two weapons: NERF guns and socks. Any zombies that gets hit with a dart or sock is stunned for 15 minutes.
The game is played at roughly 30 (known) campuses around the world, including the school I'll be going to next year.
