Now Presenting! New Command: bashfell!
« on: April 9, 2009 07:17 pm CDT »
So, you're dueling with a friend, bashing each other around, but you keep flying off map, and unfortunately, there are no admins or pks to fell you....

Now presenting: bashfell! Just say bashfell in global, and if you've recently been bashed, you'll be felled to Keldrin!

Currently, this is a Rose-only command: it only works if Rose is around.

tokath had a relatively advanced 'fell me' script but i was forced to turn it off due to abuse... eg people saying 'fell me' to escape being killed Lol

does your script find out if they've been bashed? if so, how? that's cool

Kinda defeats the purpose doesn't it? :P

Yeah, I hate the possibility of people using these types of scripts to escape. That's kind of against part of the game.
This script has a timer built in, the default is a 10 second delay. But before it even gets there it checks velocity. If they aren't going fast enough, it'll just ignore them. Default speed is the same as the server's (500) but accounts for sideways (x/y) motion.

Koro, I'm aiming for always-on like Tokath. I'll be working on that this weekend.

Reminds me of people using the telebot outside keldrin to get to the packlines faster after every pack :P How about just adding a teleport skill that allows you to be moving while you cast?

Or more simply, allow #recall to account for sideways velocity, and put it on a 15 second delay after use.

I agree,  adding this kind of command changes the entire strategy and playability of the game,  it falls outside the scope of the game.

It doesn't change any strategy or playability. It does exactly what #recall was intended to do: get people from off-map back onto the map.
When recall was put in, they didn't think that players could be launched sideways off the map at high speeds due to very high bash levels. This fixes that missing element for the convenience of PKs, admins, and players.

Players can't use it to escape damage from bashes, or escape other players chasing them, or gain any advantage from it what-so-ever.

-It has a 10 second delay.
-Only works at speeds in excess of 500mps (I assume the velocities are measured in meters/second).
