Not bad, what kind of objects did you spot with it?
My gf has a 2" Tasco, but it was pretty bad. Just good enough for some light moon viewing. Most adapted for terrestrial viewing, but it was a pretty badly made scope all around.
My 2x Barlow and 5mm eye piece are both pretty dirty, so I have to find a way to clean them up. Only the 18mm eye piece offers any kind of a clean view, which is still pretty nice, but I need MOAR!!!
Managed to see Saturn again last night (with the 18mm), but it was so small you could only just make out that it was a disc with two faint lines on the sides (rings).
Tonight or tomorrow I'll set up my camera on a tripod and see if I can get a picture of it.
I'd love to build something like an 8" Newtonian, but I've got to see how expensive the parts are. If I can do it for under $100, it'd make an awesome summer project.
Oh, yesterday was really nice out, sunny and warm. There's this huge bluff near my house. It's on private property, but teens and college students still hike up there and hang out.
Anyway, I was out calibrating the scope, checking the lenses, etc, and I thought I saw some people up there. So I train my scope on them and there was a guy and some chick sunbathing topless. She wasn't bad looking
Had enough magnification that I could have seen if she was wearing earings or not, if I had been looking for that.
