Im just saying this outloud because Im not sure and maybe someone can help out if thats the case lol.

But when I first started playing rpg I would die and for some strange reason crash servers. In no way did I do it purposely but it would just happen, I would die and the server gose.. *poof*

I also remember dying yesterday when the server was up and its been down since =/ (SORRY! D:)

Soo.. Either its A)technical issues and my deaths are just timing perfectly with them or B)my tribes is bugging stuff up.
But Ive been back maybe 2 weeks so If its been doing that longer then Ive been back then Its A) and im in the clear lol

Drako found one of the reasons for crashes, and I've since removed that issue. Not sure why it was an issue. Very curious.

Good find, Drako.

This should possibly resolve the crashes that seem to be occurring lately.

The second problem we've had has to do with the server not returning when it does crash. This has been found to be an issue where the game server crashes the programs intended to restart it, and so a manual restart is required.

You guys need to bug me when this happens.  heh  I see the server died yesterday!  I've put it back online for now, but we'll just have to work together until we get this figured out entirely.
As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.

I don't think this is deliberate.  The framework itself is crashing, not just the Tribes server instance.  Nobody can directly/deliberately crash that part of the server, as it is independent from the part people connect to.  I've updated the VM and host box as well as reset both of them.  I've also migrated back to an older, proven codebase for the framework.  So far it seems to have helped--we'll see in the upcoming days what happens.
