It was either Nero Burning Rom or it was GTA Vice City.  ARG!

GOD! And it got my Doom III too!  ARG!

I needed nero burning rom so I could copy a disk over network.  Still, it didnt work

*edit*
LoL, windoze installation is almost completed on my desktop, and I still had both of em hooked together!  That woulda started this mess all over again!

Well, first computer is fixed.

It pains me when I realize how many times this month I have formatted computers.  Some of them secret formats.

One of them was when a friend and I were downloading warez on his comp.  The whole system messed up, and I had to restore the entire computer to exactly how it was within a night.  It was tough-sailing trying to install all those custom windows programs back on a severely limited cable connection (like 400kbits/s).  Man, if I hadnt brought my windows xp corp. ed. cd along, we would have been so screwed.

Gotta love SBC with their 6Mbps tier for 45$
(Yes, on their site it only shows 3Mbps, but it is actually 6Mbps, I would know :)).

It was Vice City that had the virus..

A friend of mine got the same thing downloading it off Kazaa.

And why download Nero? EZ is the best. I can get you either if you want..

I needed to make a copy of XP Corp. Edition over network since none of these two computers have two optical drives.  On the net, the only forums that mentioned burning a CD over network recommended Nero.

Dont worry, copying XP Corp. isnt warezing, since Microsoft intended for it to be copied so that it could be distributed among workstations.  Weird, huh?

Well Microdick screwed XP up either way.

They thought their CD key verification system would work, or at least scare the crackers.

I'm going to be completely honest here.. There is nothing anyone can ever do that will stop the cracking of software.. It is possible and has been done for just about every program around..

All it takes is one person to actually buy the software.

Well, I downloaded actually 4 different files of it, to be sure I actually got the right one.  Ya know, alot of them are something like SOF2 or Commanche  :?

All of em were fake, and one of them supplied the parite virus.

You guys know my policy about warez discussions.  When I say don't post about warez, I'm not just politely suggesting.  Do it again and I don't care who it is, you'll be permabanned.

As a point of history:  Our last server clear was on September 27, 2004.  That is 4963 days ago (13.6 years) as of today.

If you're visiting after a long hiatus and have forgotten your password, try emailing me via the support form at http://www.pcrpg.org.

If your character is from after the 2004 clear but appears to have been deleted or reset, chances are it was caught in one of the inactive account purges over the years.  Backups were made before such events, so try the support form.
